Icey, I am glad to hear about your nephew, but our prayers will continue to go out for both of you. Here are hugs for you also. Sometimes I wonder how those of us in need could get by with out all of the wonderful people on this thread.

My wife and I are sending you and your nephew the hugs that you need to sustain you. We are also praying that the doctors find the right antibiotic to treat the infection. This has been a bad season for spider bites. My wife was in the E.R. and hospital Monday and Tuesday and had a young girl in next to her that had also been bitten by a spider. The Brown Recluse is especially bad, so we pray that your nephew did not, indeed wait too long. How old is he? Young children often have a harder time. Please keep us advised about his condition.

Thank you so much for your care and concern. Your prayers are appreciated. My nephew is 29 yrs old, and hopefully his system can fight the infection better than a childs would. He waited several days before seeking medical help so I feel that he is very lucky to be doing as well as he is at this point.

Thank you for the hugs, Toni. We really needed it. It looks like we can use another one. This new tumor that my wife has apparently is causing some troubles with her heart. She went into the E.R. this morning with chest pains and admitted to the hospital tonight. She will have an angiogram tomorrow morning to try to determine what has happened.

Now, I want to give a big hug to all of the wonderful people on this thread. You have all been a great comfort as we go through are many medical problems.

It seems as though our prayers have been answered so far.
My nephew came through his surgery just fine and is resting tonight. Now they are dealing with the infection but the doctor says his prognosis looks very good.
