The Hudson River is frozen. It's fucking FROZEN.

I remember in the winter of '76-'77, I was working in the WTC, on the 70th Floor, and I had never seen so much ice in the river. What really amazed me was that it was flowing upstream--I hadn't realized how much the tides influenced the river.

On an related note, the river (whose name I don't recall) that runs between Russia and Finland (near St. Petersburg) has frozen over as well. It's the first time in 40 years that's happened. Saw that on the news and went, "Alright!"

I like the cold. It seperates the whiners from those who will take it on. ;)

Yeah I heard about that earlier.

Do you really want anything from that water?

I was thinking more along the line of deposits...with the river frozen, hitmen won't be able to dump bodies, they'll have to cut a hole. An ice fishing hut can become the "cover" for cutting the hold and depositing the corpse.

Pretty funny, eh?

Water will do that.
_______

Especially if it stays very, very cold. Something to do with the molecules slowing down and turning into concrete or cement or Christmas fruitcake.

It's global warming that is causing all this ice. </sarcasm>

Actually global warming would eventually cause a climate shift that would bring on the next ice age.

Three years ago, 93rd floor: not only did I see ice in the river, but there was snow lining the downtown coastline, and all these clouds of smoke coming from God knows HOW many boilers!

*sigh* I want the WTC back...Hell! I want SUMMER back! It's just TOO damn cold!!!

I've seen it with ice before, but frozen solid is pretty rare.

I never saw the ice flow upstream though, that must have looked pretty cool Kotori!

The only way ice looks good is from indoors!
(or in my drinking glass...! *hic*) :D

More truth than sarcasm.

"Global Warming" disrupts normal weather patterns, causing increased cold in some areas and increased drought in others, with only an overall average increase in temperatures.

Whether man causes Global Warming or not is a whole different argument than whether it exists.
