It is a time of magic and sorcery, it is a time of great deeds and heroes. Among those heroes, there is one who stands above all, whose great deeds have earned the respect of nations and made peace between many races.
...and almost all of them are remembered falsely.
The idea came from two thoughts. The first one is related to a game that came out yesterday and the thought, when heroes in RPGs spend most of their time questing and away from home, do they ever try and satisfy their needs with some of the creatures they normally are supposed to fight? If so, do they ever just hit the point where they only feel satisfied if their with an Orc or getting gang-banged by goblins?
The second, what if a legendary hero got all their accolades from just fucking everything?
So for this story idea, I figured either the hero is being pushed into a political marriage and they can't perform on their wedding night or a chronicler is asked to write a memoir.
At first, the stories are as everyone else believed them to be and then the real details come out.
For example:
"What about the time you dispatched the goblin army's generals, leading them unable to make a united assault?"
"Well...I didn't dispatch them in the usual way. They said they could keep going till the sun came up and I guess they were wrong."
Or...
"What about when you rallied the Orc tribes to aide us in the war against the necromancer's undead hordes?"
"Well, half of the Chiefs are my kids, so they were happy to help."
"What about the other half?"
"Grandkids"
Or
"Now, kobolds, well let's just say you can never have enough Kobolds in your camp."
"Please...please tell me you're joking."
"Oh no, you just need one barrel of ale, ten roasted chickens and a barrel of molasses for every dozen or so you plan on..."
"NO! We'll just put that you solved things with diplomacy and justice was meted out"
"No, diplomacy is what I call my sword..."justice" is what I call my (censored) and everybody got justice that day."
