The Hell With Border Security

They never attempted to attach such an amendment, Leahy did however.
And I explained why such an amendment would be relevant.
Why would someone even consider and anti-abortion amendment, regardless if it was ever attached or not?

Good, I disagree with him as well.

I think it's interesting that even some very conservative leaders are disagreeing with you.

"Securing" the border would do nothing to stop immigration. It would just make the government bigger than it needs to be and take money out of the hands of hard working people who earned it.

"Securing the border" is simply Vettespeak for "legally treating all those fucking spics like the second class garbage they are".

How would that stop anyone from buying a ticket on a plane and flying in?

The same way it would stop people from digging their way in, swimming to Florida or hiding in a car crossing the border. Bot made no mention of where he intended to place mines. As an Ordnanceman I can tell you that God hasn't invented the problem that can't be solved with high explosives. The Solution may be worse than the problem. The problem however will no longer exist.

I know the #'s are mostly estimates, but from what I've seen, most immigrants enter the country legally. Placing agents at the border will never stop that.

Placing mines at all the legal entry points will. :D

Which brings me to my point with KO in another thread...it's this half assed program we have that invites people...gives them incentive to come here...they go head first to the "Land of opportunity" then we make it a total bitch to stay and they are stuck illegals who can't become a part of the whole no matter what they do.

It's an issue we need to handle, but it's going to require us to either shit or get the fuck off the pot.

Now we can button this bitch up and give everyone the finger.....or we can offer these people some sane options to gain citizenship. I think the latter would be healthier/better for the nation but at this point IDGAF...just tired of hearing about it.

Including the same sex marriage amendment to the bill would allow homosexual residents who are married to bring in their spouse legally. Equals fewer illegal aliens.

You didn't answer my question.

It wouldn't stop every person, but it would go a long way towards shutting down the major percentage of it.
Really? Are we talking about just the Mexican border, or including the coastlines and Canada too?

They will be living in a post constitutional surveillance state where individual rights, liberty, and property rights will be subject to the administrative tyranny of the state.

If that's down the road, why has it not already happened in Europe? Unless you think it has, in which case, apparently it's a good thing, and they're still free countries, so what are you scared of?
