The healthhcare bill will help Republicans too! ~Micheal Moore

If you benefit in any way from the taxes you pay (again, go down to the end of your driveway and check on whether there is a road there--and this, of course, is only a tip-of-the-iceberg example), you haven't gone it alone, have you? You keep ducking this. Yes or no?

Be an adult; answer a serious question.

Why in the world would I even try to explain it as you wont listen to the answer I give ? I've answered your question 10x over and still you refuse to listen, so whats the point anymore ?

You are an idiot that refuses to see common sense.

Copy and paste can do.

Yes or no? Do you really think you go it alone in society?

(By the way, this hits directly on the subject of the thread--Michael Moore's statement that the health care bill will benefit Republicans too.)

Ok i'll spell this out one last time, read it very slowly this time so you can get the gears working up there, ok sweetums?

When someone pays taxes, tag tax from vehicles, sales tax, booze, food, cigarettes, etc. The state and Fed's build roads, which *everyone* both freeloader and working people use. So in a sense the public rents those roads, each person gets to use them. The law is for us all to pay for them, we dont have to like it when the freeloaders use them, but we have to use them too.

Now when someone pays taxes for something they neither need nor want, that is basicly the fed's stealing because it doesnt benefit the individual nor the whole of the society by using a Bill that is flawed beyond reason. And the ones that benefit the most are the ones that dont contribute anything.

Ok, still here cupcake? Listen closely.

YOU are RESPONSIBLE for YOURSELF.

Not the governement. Not your neighbor, not the guy down the street filling pot-holes or the guy sitting behind the desk at the bank counting money.

Just you, no one else, to expect someone else to take care of you is downright lazy.

Yes, I do go it alone, no matter how you try to spin it, I have been taking care of myself for many years and will continue to do so till the day I die.

The only way a member of a democracy has to decide which taxes to pay, and not to pay, is to vote for representatives that agree with that member's interpretation of what is necessary and what isn't.

Unfortunately for most of us, it is impossible to find any representative that would agree with each individual's personal list of desirable taxes. We have to compromise and elect people to make the least worst choice.

There are many government funded initiatives that I would rather NOT pay for. Most of us would prefer to pay no taxes at all but that isn't an option. In the UK income tax was introduced as a temporary wartime measure. It was repealed, but our governments found it too useful and brought it back again.

Our current government has declined to increase income taxes but has introduced and increased a whole raft of other taxes. When I pay my utility bills - I pay tax on the energy I use. When I fill up my car, I pay tax on the fuel. I pay a tax to have the car on the road. When I buy insurance for my car, I pay tax on that insurance. When I buy a car, I pay tax. If I buy a new car after April 1, I'd have to pay a new "showroom tax" on top of the existing taxes. When I take out any insurance, I pay tax.

My petrol now costs £1.15 a litre. After April 1, it will cost even more, no matter what the crude oil price is, because the government is increasing the tax on fuel again.

If someone in work puts money aside for a pension, that money has already been taxed. Any interest that the savings earns will be taxed, and when the pension is paid, tax has to be paid again on that income until death - when there are more taxes, even on the funeral costs.

I might not want to pay, for example, for a new version of our nuclear deterrent, not because I'm against nuclear deterrents, but because we can't use our nuclear deterrent without permission from the then US President. What is the point of having an expensive weapon system we can't use without asking another country?

I don't have the luxury of choosing which taxes I will and won't pay unless I take measures to avoid them. I can, for example, travel to France to buy wine and spirits with lower taxes than in the UK. Then I'm paying taxes to the French government but I get the alcohol cheaper.

Sorry, I don't see the "I go it alone" in the scenario you paint. (I suspect you don't either, which is why you are obfuscating so much here. :D)

I'm glad we've had this little chat, though. I think it was quite revealing.
