The government shuts down. Another spectacular MAGA failure.

The monies are subsidies for state Medicaid programs. This typically address the gap at the state level for people who don't have insurance who require emergency care.

That includes citizens and non citizens as it is a legal requirement to provide care for emergency facilities.

The right incorrectly assumes this is specifically funding illegals healthcare, which is misinformation .
Also, it's against federal law for undocumented immigrants to receive Medicaid or Medicare.

There are multiple cases of Trump companies and Trump properties employing undocumented immigrants. When Rubio ran against him in 2016 he published a number of instances, including litigated examples, of this.

Lest we lose sight of it, what the Republicans are really pushing - and the Dems trying to stop - is stripping away ACA coverage for legal immigrants. Little wonder they're trying so hard to change the narrative on that.

Democrats should demand an end to all of these fake emergency orders before caving.

The OBBB was passed by Congress and signed into law by the President. If Democrats wish to change that, they can introduce legislation and follow the process. They won’t achieve it by blocking a CR to keep the government open.

It's every bit as reasonable to say the Dems are fighting to prevent millions of Americans from skyrocketing insurance rates, and millions more from losing their coverage altogether, using the only leverage they have. They certainly don't owe it to the Republicans to provide votes for what amounts to cutting those benefits to pay for tax cuts for the 1%.

This shut down is going to go on for months. Trump will not compromise and really doesn't care what hardships the country suffers.
If the Democrats compromise on the ACA funding Trump will mock them with childish videos.
The Senate could do away with the filibuster and just pass the CR. But they might not have enough Senators to get that done.

Just what makes you think our support is blind? Has it even crossed your mind that maybe we actually support affordable health care, progressive taxation, a safety net, etc?
“Affordable healthcare” is only a label. It is not affordable even with the subsidies they have been propping it up with since 2011 when pelosi forced the bill through.
Now is the first time the subsidies have been challenged. If there are subsidies provided again, this time they must be in a stand alone bill. Not tacked on to government spending, the budget or anything. They were conspicuously removed from the BBB and nobody seemed to care.
This fuzzy funding of the failed Obamacare ACA has to stop. November enrollment is coming soon. I am not looking forward to paying 900 a month for insurance next year, but it will likely take that long for them to come up with a replacement for the failed ACA. The Covid bill that funds the subsidy this year paid 82% of my monthly premiums.
As is republicans have not been tasked with replacing the liberal failed policy. Republicans have eliminated funding the ACA. With that elimination they have revealed the ACA is Obama’s version of universal health care which is also a proven failure in Canada.

Trump married one, then wrote out a dumb 'Einstein' visa for her. She'd already pushed out an anchor baby though, so it was all for appearances.
Melania was never an illegal alien. Ever.
Joy Reid on the other hand is an illegal allied. Neither of her parents were here legally when she was born. JR is nothing more than an anchor baby.

Yep... accessible healthcare is the better term.

If people in our country are sick and cannot get the care they need, that is bad for our country.

Glad you agree 👍

Republicans are not stripping away coverage.
The ACA should never have been funded by the government.
We are not changing the narrative. The ACA has been propped up by the democtprats since its inception. Finally the ACA is being exposed as the 3000 page fraud that it is. The bill never should have been passed. Since it started the subsidies have done nothing but funded the stock owned health insurance companies with our tax dollars.

When pelosi forced the ACA health care in America was eliminated for anyone unemployed. It made independent coverage unaffordable. Since it’s inception the premiums have been propped up by subsidies. Ow you and all you liberal fucktards are saying premiums are increasing. They are not. The subsidy is no longer available. No longer provided by government. The subsidy is how the domocrats covered up how much more costly the ACA is than what was in place before they eliminated it.
Remember in the name of the children they claimed more children would be insured. Never happened. Less children are insured. And without the subsidy people have the choice to go uninsured. No action on libs now we will see the number of uninsured sky rocket.
The premiums change very little from year to year.

Your political opposition arguments are noted and discarded.

If people in our country are sick and cannot get the care they need, that is bad for our country.

Certainly healthcare costs are absurd in this country, and before the ACA, healthcare plans which did nothing were given to stupid people in order to lower costs. Those shell.scams are not.longer legal under the ACA, thankfully.

Discarded?
How are 900$ per month plans considered affordable?
How are 900$ per month plans with 20$ copay, no co-insurance with a 8500$ deductible considered affordable?
Roughly 20,000$ a year for health care is not affordable.
Government funding health care premiums is not acceptable.

You can change the subject saying people cannot get the healthcare they need if that makes you feel good. That is what all the library’s are doing now. It is not working out well for them. We know you libtards are healthcare impossible with the ACA. Rather than complain that we are not willing to throw more money at your failed program, do something about it. We did not have enough votes to prevent the ACA. Now since it is such an amazing plan the likes of you are trying to pin it’s complete failure on us.

Republicans did not vote for government funded healthcare.

We told you so when you passed the failed bill.

We had to modify the bill to eliminate penalties for those unable to pay the potential 20,000$ price tag.

By the way, how do you act surprised the affordable care act is unaffordable for everyone that needs it? Or are you cherry picking facts and twisting them into another topic like you normally do?

Yep

Democrats did.

Neat

We had to modify the bill to eliminate penalties for those unable to pay the potential 20,000$ price tag.
You didn't have to
You did.

Than you tried to repeal it without any replacement and got fucked for it.

I am not surprised at your rhetoric.

People need healthcare....even those you don't like. Healthcare has always been socialism
....probably why you hate it.

Legal migrants are supposed to be able to provide for themselves as a condition of their residency status. If they can't do that then they need to return whence they came and ask their native country to provide for them.

Huh, the MAGAt-led government is still shut down.

Seems like the oligarchs are more interested in implementing Project 2025.

Your political opposition arguments are noted and discarded.
You are still in denial. The ACA could never stand on its own.
And you know the ACA was never about people having insurance.
The ACA is designed to make insurance companies rich. That is why doctors and republicans did not want the ACA.
Now 15 or so years later we finally physically exposed how weak the bill is and the likes of you are saying come up with a plan to fix it. We had a plan and pelosi/obama broke it so badly there is not a simple fix. Interlocking medicare and medicaid with independent and group health care not only hid the subsidies from people that did not know they could use them in the marketplace, it further obsfuscated government involvement in not only funding medicare medicaid it conceals their input in determining what is and is not covered.
Get the US government the fuck out of healthcare.

You are still in denial..
Nope

The ACA could never stand on its own.
It was passed as such and then the right dismantled the pieces that made it work.
The whole bill was carved up for political purposes when the legislation was meant to benefit the country

And you know the ACA was never about people having insurance.
Yesđź’Ż

It was about providing access to healthcare for every American.

The ACA is designed to make insurance companies rich. That is why doctors and republicans did not want the ACA.
Lol
