It's still raining, it has been raining for at least 3 days. She looked out the glass walls of the green house and watched the watery landscape with a sigh on her full lips. The Flowers nymphs chattered happily off in the corner, unconcerned with the rain or the girl who watched it. She looked once more at them and then way biting her lower lip. Her mother, Demeter, Was off in the village several miles away and wasn't to return until dark. Persephone smiled softly as she had an idea and decided to follow her thoughts calling out to the gathered Nymphs.
I will be back in a moment.
She waited as they offered to help or follow and she refused the offers, knowing the silly creatures would forget as soon as she left the room. She walked along the inside of the large green house, finally coming to a door she could escape out of house. The rain struck her but it was warm and she was soaked from the moment she walked away from the house that was more her prison then a home. She walked further and further afield losing herself in the realm of the mortals large open fields, with spots of trees clumped in various places to provide privacy when one wanted to enjoy the day. But today there was only the rain, she still didn't care she had been cooped up for 3 days, after her mother had called the East Wind to come and soak the land. Demeter was trying a new lush forest with her controlled environs.
Remember Persephone, you must maintain control. Everything must be neat and orderly there can be no Chaos in your designs.
Persephone closed her eyes remembering her mother's tirade after she had been allowed to bring forth Spring for the first time in her life. She had been so excited that her magic surged, flowers had bloomed across the fields and valleys. Her designs if you could call them that had been the chaos her mother truly hated and Persephone had though she had made the world a wondrous place because of her chaos. That had been 2 years ago and now she couldn't even grow a blade of grass. Some Goddess of Spring she was, not. After that day and her mother making her feel like a child she hadn't been able to grow anything, she had wilted and her power with her. A tear mixed with the rain and she sighed.
But now it was time for her to go off to Atlantis University, she would finally have the freedom she craved. Maybe. 3 days ago Hades had shown up to get plants for Hecate that only Demeter knew how to obtain and her mother had gone into lock down mode. Persephone had been shoved in her room. Demeter had darkened the glasshouse and she had met him outside, in her usual unwelcoming manner. Now her mother was rethinking her finally letting her leave. Persephone was in turmoil. She wanted to go and be away from her mother. Yes she would have guardians and of course she would have to maintain constant contact with her mother. But, some freedom was better then none. She would be staying in the house her mother owned in Atlantis. All of the Gods and Goddesses had a residence there.
Looking up at the sky she groaned and shook her head, kicking a rock as she spoke. Stupid Hades.
The fog that began to gather made her pause and she bit her lower lip here eyes narrowing as the temperature had a definite degree change. She saw someone near to hand that she hadn't seen a moment ago, but the fog was so thick she couldn't make him out. Just as she was about to call out to the man, she was surrounded by soaking wet flower nymphs as they rambled and chattered that her mother was home and she was being summoned. She looked back over her shoulder and her eyes flared as she saw the tall very distinguished man standing in the meadow she had just been dragged from, staring at her with the most intense gaze that made her skin tingle as if she had been caressed from head to toe.... Who was he?
