The George Floyd Murder Trial...defending the undefendable

He is guilty...but he will get off because he is white and the victim was black with a record.

I think we're a bit far beyond him getting off in this particular case. I think George Floyd is way far away from being treated like some sort of hero (like some are doing), but that doesn't mitigate the overuse of force/some form of murder by Chauvin.

I rack this continued police brutality despite all of these cases up to the state of military service abroad. We send people overseas to war zones, where they become dehumanized, and then we bring them back and put them in police uniforms. Chauvin served with the Military Police, I think.

The paramedic was not allowed to check on his welfare...or treat him if she deemed necessary. Since when is a cop judge and jury? This isn't about the victim. It is 100% about a bad cop. Never would have happened if the victim had been white.

Totally a bad cop needing to be put away--and big time as an example for other cops, but I can't agree with the 100 percent on the cop business. Floyd was being a criminal ass on drugs. I don't give someone doing that a totally free ride, even when it kills them. They contributed to their own death and the tragedy that people were brought to was started by them. This isn't the case of pull a black out of a car just because he's black. That lesson needs to be out there as well and it isn't. Some people are treating Floyd and others getting themselves into that position as heroes. They aren't.

As I remember the incident that got Floyd arrested it involved him trying to pay for some cigarettes with what the owner/manager thought was a fake twenty dollar bill. The supposedly fake bill got him killed by an out of control cop. Floyd was handcuffed before being dragged from the police SUV and forced to the ground where three cops pinned him face down on the ground. Chauvin flat out killed Floyd. If Chauvin is found guilty his life is not worth a plugged nickle. He will be lucky to live a full week.

That was covered in court testimony yesterday. He did pay for the cigarettes with fake money and went out to the parking lot and sat in his SUV with two others, refusing two attempts by the store employees to get the cigarettes back unless he paid in real money. This is both passing counterfeit money and theft. The store called in the cops. The cops didn't just decide to take down a black man while driving by. The testimony then was that he also was on drugs.

To the point the cops showed up, he was committing crimes and the cops were called by the victims of those crimes.

There isn't just one issue here between Clarence Good Shoes and Black Bart. Black Bart should go down for what he did. But this doesn't start with an innocent citizen just minding his own business. Some of these cases that have cropped up did, and something needs to be done to get the police to "get it" and stop doing this. This one didn't. There's no reason to paint Floyd's portrait with a halo on the side of a building. The only 100 percent pure victims in this case were the store employees.

The Chauvin strain in police departments isn't the only problem here that needs to be addressed. The in-your-face criminality in segments of the citizen population also needs to be acknowledged and addressed.

There is no evidence that Floyd knew whether or not the bill was counterfeit.

Not paying much attention but what I've seen suggests this dude has zero chance of being acquitted. No doubt he is getting sized for his Naked Gun style steel underwear.

This was premeditated murder.

Chauvin kept his knee on a man's neck for almost nine minutes while that man was begging and pleading for breath.

There is no way Chauvin could have been unaware that he was killing George Floyd.

Thats not premeditated murder. His charges are correct for what happened.

Whatever sort of lowlife George Floyd was, he had committed no offence that merited a death penalty - and even if he had, he should have been given a fair trial by the justice system.

Would it have happened if the perp cooperated?

This is the main difference I see in cases like this.

Probably not for the 2nd degree charges.

Unless they dropped those and I missed it.

No, it wasn't 1st degree murder, "premeditated" is a legal term with meaning that you're ignoring.

If he was pleading, he could breathe, can't yell and holler and make all that noise if your airway is cut off.

Floyd couldn't breathe because he was OD'ing.

Overcharged.....at best it was negligent homicide.

In reality, Floyd was OD'ing and already dead when he walked up to the cops.

But facts don't matter.

This trial is little more than a drumhead and a charade of civility by and for the sake of mob justice for the sake of public fee fees.

Spectator sport "justice"....lol.....a total fucking joke.

Chauvin is guilty of 3rd degree homicide. Let's see what the jury decides.

^^^ "making excuses for white cops" is one of the trademarks of our authoritarian "liberal"
