Just when you thought you'd heard it all, a gem like this comes along.

The Pentagon considered building a "Gay bomb".

CBS 5) BERKELEY A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals and make them more interested in sex than fighting.

Pentagon officials on Friday confirmed to CBS 5 that military leaders had considered, and then subsquently rejected, building the so-called "Gay Bomb."

Sometimes truth IS stranger than fiction.

Rest of the story here.

I heard about that on Howard Stern a couple of years ago, actually. So I guess I have heard everything :D (although I do seem to have quite a bit of trouble remembering it all ;) )

Blue-sky research, eh?

I just can't believe they were thinking that way in '94!
I blame the hippie influence.....Make love not war, and all. ;)

It was actually a secret project of the infamous 'Gay Agenda'. The General who was in charge of the project was actually an undercover Gay Agent. Sadly the project went bust when the General was reassigned and the next General was a card carrying member of the Moral Majority. He worried that all those gay soldiers might try to invade California to get all the blond surfer guys there.

Not true! The MM had never cared about either surfer dudes or California...or New York for that matter. Those state and the sinners in them are already lost. It's Florida that the General was afraid would be infected.

And...guess what? That's right...the Rev. Ted Haggard and that gay protitute! How could it have happened, you ask? Yes, that's right, the new General was not entirely in time to save those who had been experimented on by the old General.

And you thought there would be no repercussions to all of those cuts to the military, eh? Another vital social program lost to the relentless knife of the budget-cutter.
