I lived in France for a little more than a year way back in the 60's. The biggest turn off then was the aversion that the French nation, women and men had for soap and water.

I remember one particularly attractive woman who showered once a fortnight whether she needed it or not.

The idea of a schedule is good. The frequency, not so much.

You are right. I think they also have an aversion to using toilet paper.

Anyone who thinks that all the people in France don't bathe regularly or use toilet paper as required is ready to join the list of people who will believe anything derogatory about anyone they don' t know

The Stella Awards come readily to mind.

I lived there too, in France that is, and much longer than a year.

It was all possibly true during World War II. There was a reason for it then.

Civilization

The history of civilization (the Romans excluded, because they were obviously way out of line) is shown in the frequency of bathing.

It is reported that Queen Elizabeth first (NOT the current one, but Henry VIII's daughter) bathed once a year.

These days we all shower every morning(or evening (or before/after sex)) - delete as appropriate, unless you don't have sex every day

Does this mean in another hundred years we'll just spend ALL our time washing?

I think there is a story here.
Pharm Comp sends a rep out to the doctors while there is a media blitz going on simultaeously. Female doc and Male Rep. Female is like the women in the news article. She takes the meds that the Rep gives her to see what they do before she gives them to the patients. Rep is unhappy at home, wife's libido doesn't work, and she refuses to try the med that he can get for her. Rep checks back with doc (week later or so?) and her libido has once again kicked in, and yada yada yada......
Just a thought.

See, now the story that came to my mind was some French woman going through a whole United Nations of lovers in search for the best she could find as she'd been sorely disappointed by her fellow countrymen....
