I don't trust getting sources for this out of the US, since it is based upon states reporting. That said, I do trust the numbers in my country.

Based upon this report ( and there is lots of data, but only up till June 2021) it shows a rising rate of infection of those younger as Delta has become the dominant variant out there.

I have read three observational studies, ( all peer reviewed) based on hospital outcomes in three different countries. In all three studies, children have a higher risk of hospitalisation,and death from COVID vs influenza.

Seem the average is a 1% great death percentage with COVID vs Influenza, among patients of similar conditions/ ages.

I am not bothering to post the links, since you can't seem to read through a study to find the data anyhow when I do post them.

If anyone else wishes the links, let me know and I will add them in.

Now the article doesn't say if the person felt sick prior to a day before he went to the hospital, but the article does highlight how fast this "can" kill, even if you are hospitalised.

It also captures very little of the Delta variant , since Canada is way ahead of America on vaccination rates of the population except under 12 years old. The next study will show that increase in infection rates I suspect, since the current lag is about 6 weeks behind on infections and reporting.

These come out monthly, and are a month behind, so July's report should be out around the end of August...if I remember I will post the link here, because I know you are just so interested in them...

The point I made is that Covid-19, including the Delta variant, poses a near-zero risk to children and healthy young adults. As you can see from the CDC website, juvenile deaths are < than 1 per 100,000. In fact, the same holds true for every age group under 65.
