The practiced, "individual mutual respect," among all US citizens, from birth until death, regarding - religious, spoken word, press/print, artistic and assembly - freedoms.
Conversely - US government authorities (in any position of power) can not "selectively control, limit or promote" - any kind of private institution with any sort of defined philosophies of religion, spoken word, press/printed word, artistic or assembly.
Private institutions can - have internal rules regarding any of the general freedoms embodied within the First Amendment - but they can only apply to individuals who voluntarily submit to such rules within the given institution.
