In great sadness, I must report that poor tree finally succumbed to its injuries some months after this incident. He was a good old tree.

No. I live in the river bottoms, surrounded by forests, rivers, and farm fields. They're everywhere. I don't have any idea how they get in the house, but found another one tonight. Lord knows how many of them ended up in the belly of the furry little beast.
