The Exhaustion of American Liberalism

Somehow I missed this post. It's the most idiotic so far.

So what? They're too weak to do it. Anyone who resorts to terrorism is too weak to win on the battlefield or at the ballot box.

Oh yeah. Like intimidation never stopped anyone from voting. Tell that to the Black Panthers.

Terrorism works because if a society is too afraid they won't fight. The ONLY method that works against a bully is to stand up to them. Terrorists are bullies.

You're mixed up -- I was replying to your concern about the Euro and Venezuelan economies; their condition is the fault of no POTUS.

So, the piss-poor US economy, the ENGINE THAT DRIVES THE WORLD, has nothing to do with the economies around the globe? Thus, your rationale is that a "global economy" is not dependent upon the pieces?

Or that the man who sets the economic policy isn't somehow connected to the (lack of) results of that policy?

What, between nuclear powers?! Of course not.

Feckless cowardism. The sign of a true progressive - only fight when the other guy can't fight back.

You don't get to pick your battles. If you're going to fight, then fight the battles that come your way.

We don't have to worry about NK, at any rate.

Maybe not today, but some day the peninsula will have nukes. If KJU is in power, or some other wackjob is sitting in the chair in his place, then we WILL have to worry.

What will you do then? Roll over and beg? Or sign up for a chance at being one of his underlings? 'Cause you support his socialism schtick and all that.

That's all your canard deserved. I know you have no proof that Iran is building WMDs.

They worry about refugees and terrorism, end of list; the Syrian Civil War is not going to destabilize their own governments.

Turkey has a fence and armed troops to prevent Syrian soldiers and rebels from coming across the border. Iraq is throwing those same fighters out. Iran is engaged to prevent them from coming into it's lands.

Governments do not send soldiers to front line battles unless they are worried about invasions. Or they are the ones who are going to invade.

Americans are still voting. Not with high turnout, but that's got nothing to do with terrorist intimidation.

Bullies are ineffectual unless they're stronger than their victims; otherwise they can safely be ignored.

Of course it's a global economy, but I can think of no policy decision by a POTUS that might have contributed to causing the economic problems of Greece or Venezuela.

Wanting to avoid nuclear holocaust is not "cowardism." Jeez, aren't you old enough to remember the Cold War?!

When you're a superpower, you get to pick your battles.

So? What are they going to do with them? Kim might be crazy, but he's sane enough to know that there's no way he can use a nuke that does not equate to regime suicide.

That is not a weapons program.

They're not worried about invasions. No faction in Syria has any desire or is any position to invade any neighboring country.
