The Etoile Thread

Aww, thanks for asking, Geoff!

I think my big happy thing is that yesterday while in therapy I realized something. I've barely talked to C in months because I'm really pissed off about some life decisions e made. But I realized that the way around the anger is to acknowledge that we're not in a romantic relationship anymore. I keep thinking there's still something there when there's not, even though e and my wife are romantically involved. But more than just knowing we're not in a romantic relationship, I have to know that it's okay to be friends. I have to practice treating C like a friend, not a lover. I think that will help me calm down a lot regarding em. Like, to be able to tolerate being in the same place. It make take a little while but I'm going to practice it.

Plus I got the new tattoo, as you know! Other than that...went to Philadelphia and the beach last week, and on July 7th I'm flying to New Orleans for our College Bowl competition. Then on the 11th I fly back to interpret for a Star Trek convention (I'm so excited that George Takei will be there, I can give him a big hug and thank him for coming out!) And the weekend after that I go to Philadelphia again, this time to interpret for International Deaf Leather.

I think that's all the news that's fit to print!

I had to quote this because it made me so happy.
Oh Etoile, you are wonderful:rose:...maybe we need to start an Etoile calender to keep us sane and to the point, and help educate about things not everyone has the blessing to be exposed to in.

Catalina:catroar:

Thank you, Cat!

In other news, I may not be around much for the next week. I'll be at a conference without a computer and only my Blackberry. So I'll be around, just not MUCH. ;)

Y'know, I was going to come to this thread and post something that had made me laugh, but the search function is down and by the time I found the thread, I couldn't remember what it was I wanted to post! You should be able to bookmark favorite threads right on the forum so you can access them from any computer with just one or two clicks.

I just subscribe to threads I want to find quickly, then put 'no notification', so that I don't get a freaken email every time someone posts.

What's even more annoying than that is the way the whole site itself keep getting hung up every five minutes like it's got twelve million people accessing it at the same time. Have you been getting that?

By the way, nice to make your acquaintance, Etoile. I don't think I've given you a shout out before, and I've admired your photos plus your posts from afar, so I'd thought I'd wave hello in here! ;)

Ah, but I subscribe to every thread I post to, because I do want that e-mail every time someone posts! (Most of the time it's only when there's one new reply after I've checked the thread, it usually doesn't email with EVERY new post until I look at the thread again - although sometimes it hiccups and does do that.) If I decide a thread has gotten boring, then I click the unsubscribe link in the email. But without subscribing to threads - I also subscribe to the entire BDSM and GLBT forums, so I get email nightly notifying me of new threads - I'd never be able to keep track of everything!

So I want a different bookmarking feature besides subscribing, LOL.

Yes!! It's driving me nuts. I think that's why the thread search didn't work at all earlier. And it's nice to meet you too, thanks for dropping in!

Bookmarks

My way is to subscribe to a thread; and then when I get an e-mail, I put it in my Lit folder on Yahoo mail. Any web based mail will work. Then I can find the thread when I want -from my computer or another computer by simply logging into my e-mail. I don't file all e-mails-- just periodically, and ever so often I go into the file and delete the oldest dupes. Then if a thread goes cold for six months, I can always find it from any computer.

Hope this helps.:)

I can't see it because of my slow internet speed but please, please, please tell me they weren't captive dolphins? Please. Lie if you have to.

*Wrings hands anxiously*

I won't lie, but I will tell you that as someone with a lifelong love of dolphins, I chose the facility very carefully and was satisfied with their methods of care and treatment of the animals. I have a lot of respect for the way Sea Life Park operates. I am very familiar with how dolphins live in the wild and how they live in captivity, and I would not go somewhere that did not treat their dolphins properly.

I'm working on night 2 in a row of no sleep. I can't catch my breath. I'm seriously considering resigning myself to no sleep again. I would just drive home - I'm in Harrisburg - but I have to stay here because I have to return a thing to OfficeMax and there aren't any near me. But I think I'm about to go nuts from lack of sleep. This is the dumbest ever. I can't breathe through my nose.

*HUGS*

Sorry you are sleep deprived. The Dolphin swim looked like great fun.

:rose:

Not sleeping is no fun at all. I would give a lot to be able to sleep properly again.

I think I need to hang with some marine mammals...:D

rida showed me around Love Hotel Hill in Shibuya, but I still haven't made it into one...was going to try it just for a night, but I feel silly going in by myself!
