The erasing of whites from advertising

It was. It's very common knowledge. Also, that a black at that time and place had better address a white as "sir" or "ma'am" or "mister" or "miz," or else.

This is correct but not applicable everywhere evenly....there have always been places of.much more rigid racism and places that were much looser....like Harlem, in the 20's thru 40's

That's why I said "and place," the place being the Jim Crow South.

I've never lived in the Jim Crow South, it was pretty much dead before I was born. Jim Crow, like slavery, was an abomination. It was a stain upon those who practiced it and a curse upon those it oppressed.

The racial caste hierarchy was not enshrined in law alone -- it was reinforced by daily social rituals.

Emmett Till was lynched because he was from Chicago and did not really understand the rules, the way he would have if raised in Mississippi.

Actually, the Nazi way was to claim they were reviving an idealized past.

Partly true. Good point.
Bu they also needed to defame anyone who was against them and the institutions that were in power previously.
This was important in Poland bc Germany wanted it for living space so they needed a docile, pro German population to pick crops and burp babies.
Stalin did this in USSR as well. So did Mao and Pol Pot.

yes, of course that's the reason you name yourself after Wall Street's historical fame for being the advertising corporation hub of America.

yeeesh. Mad Men debuts, becomes a hit, then all the lifer office mailroom clerks of yesteryear start revising their tenures as virtual Don Drapers! :D

I have worked in financial services advertising for decades. The presentations I give and the ads I write help your financial advisors make up their minds. I work with people who manage billions of dollars and they use my marketing materials every day.
But hey, here I am arguing with a certified ignoramus, so, shame on me.

Good.for.you...nice...this is what being against racism sounds like.

That would have nothing to do with what you were talking about -- placing interracial gays in ads as a form of "demoralization."

The Nazis flooded Poland with cheap and free porn in the months before invasion. They murdered intellectuals ranging from scientists to priests to school teachers. Anyone who could point to Poland's rich cultural heritage.
It was demoralization. Just like an army with low morale loses battles, so too do societies.
The interracial gay thing served no purpose. It is a tiny demographic. I read metrics all day long. You have to justify decisions.
The ad men and women here wanted to change America and make everything tolerated so that no one would fight the more insane things to come.

No we don't think AA or other POCs are less capable than white people.

Considering most (D)'eez don't even think they can find a DMV or court house I have to disagree with you on that.

We KNOW that white people as a collective have certain advantages.

There is no white people collective and not legally or as citizens.

The only advantages they have are no different than any others, cultural.

If you wantt o call being able to see facts racist that's fine. It shows how racist you are and not in the way that is normal.

Feelings are not facts.

And pointing out your racism doesn't make me racist.

As I said, Jim Crow was an abomination. It was a form of ugly totalitarianism by race and class, perpetuated by the Democratic Party, and we should never forget that as we see it raise it's ugly totalitarian head again in their current cancel culture efforts. Now it's not so much about skin color but the regimentation of ideas and beliefs by class.

 No, there is no connection of any kind whatsoever between Jim Crow and "cancel culture." That is quite incredibly stupid even for you.

We're saying they shouldn't have to for starters. More importantly many don't drive so they have no need for a license. I didn't get mine until I was twenty three. Everything I needed as a teen was within walking distance and I joined the military straight out of high school. Funny thing, military ID probably wouldn't count as ID. It doesn't count if you try to rent a hotel room for the night. College ID doesn't count either. Putting up barriers is just there to lower voting numbers.

No, they have the advantage of almost never being discriminated against. Its more likely they own their homes and wealth gathers. There are freaks out there who get to be well off by hard work but most of them start off halfway up the hill.

They live in better neighborhoods with better access to jobs and education. That isn't culture, that is privelege. There is no denying that. There is no formal white people collective, there actually (or were until very recently several of them.

Feelings are not facts.

And pointing out your racism doesn't make me racist.

Actually yes it does.

There is a connection between both to Democrat totalitarian control, however. Which was the undeniable point.

That is bullshit. There is no "totalitarian control" in "cancel culture." If RW speaker X has to cancel his campus appearance because of student opposition, that is a matter of the students' 1st Amendment rights being exercised, not the speaker's being denied.

Yes I have, but I don't remember reading anything that supports what you just said about how whites addressed elderly black people, or that it was a common practice related to their race.

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh, my, what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine headin' my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!
Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder
It's the truth, it's "actch'll"
Everything is "satisfactch'll"
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, feeling this way!

No, it's the speaker being denied.

Lefties getting whatever they want and silencing the right is NOT how 1A or free speech works.

Put the crack pipe down little Stalin. :D

But, when did Jim Crow end?

I just skip to the part where you're an ignorant racist.

Actually, not it doesn't, you're just a bigot... the end.

No, you skip to the part where you reveal that you are a bigot. That's the simple facts of the case. I am not a bigot, you could describe me as racist because I DO see why we do certain things in this country. That if you pretend the reason ICE can somehow find the factories where illegals work but can't seem to figure out who is hiring them is about race. That the fact we are basically cool wish Russia but can't life sanctions on Cuba is about race. The fact that we didn't pour money into Puerto Rico untiil the problem was solved the way we did New Jersey is about race.

Of course it is. Free speech includes the right to shout you down. It does not include the right to an appreciative audience.

Sung by Uncle Reemus, a black man, right? Song of The South. So what are you saying that he couldn't have been real "uncle" but for his color and gender?
