One of the most diverse, progressive organizations on the planet...the USA military....saw to it(inspite of it being far from perfect) that blacks, Italians, Mexicans, Indigenous, Japanese fought along side some very racist white folks who didn't want them there fighting for all of our freedom. And, I'm sure some of those white folks were not complete racist....a lot were.

Colon Powell talks a lot about how diverse the military is, back in those racist times as well as today.
