The End of Affirmative Action

Yes. It is a form of profiling. Those whom advocate for it attempt to abrogate basic human nature.

In this, they will never succeed. The damage done is that the minority employee will always be viewed with suspicion.

It had better not overturn Affirmative Action because that will lead to violence.

You know, those right-wing MAGA crazies...

*Chuckles*

The funny thing is that the USA has tons of laws on the books guaranteeing equality, yet as a society, is highly stratified.

All societies are. The hubris of the Left is that they hold the key to abrogating basic human nature.

It cannot be done – not even absolute tyrannies have managed that feat.

There are countries that do much better… check any of the quality of life lists… always the same countries in the top 5-10.

Denmark comes to mind, the other Scandinavian countries and the other social democracies like Canada and New Zealand.

Supreme Court to Hear Arguments in Harvard Affirmative Action Case on Oct. 31

I sound racist, but I'm anxious about so many Asians getting top admission marks.

They're really intelligent and competent, and their 2nd generation kids devour science and learning.

But Asian cultures suck, man, when it comes to human rights.
Many of their Elites are money oriented classists, lying and cheating and exploiting less well off fellow humans are acceptable to them.

Most exploitative landlords here are Chinese. And if you hear on the news of an 'Australian' business owner who imported 3rd world immigrants & exploited them? ---- 5 out of 10 their name is Indian-sounding, 3 out of 10 Chinese sounding.

You can't end discrimination by discriminating.

Example: Clarence Thomas served as a judge for 1 Year before his SCOTUS gift.

Meanwhile…. Bloomberg says:

“The End of Affirmative Action Will Make Elite America Even Whiter”

A couple of points.

First being that the appointment of Thomas to the court was political and had relatively little to do with meritocracy and he's being judged along political lines. This is contrasted by the recent attitudes of academia where one would expect to place meritocracy in a paramount position being subverted to 'inclusion' for the sake of inclusion. In a very real sense academia is allowing the inmates to run the asylum.

Regarding Bloomberg's statement. I can't help but marvel at the irony of that statement, the elite, and especially the liberal elite, are already predominantly white. And then you have to answer the question, "What does it take to become an elite?" Are they going to abandon their status and fortunes to some individual of color (or whatever you want to use as a metric) in the interests of "inclusion?" I think we both know the answer to that question. All that being said he's probably right, at least for the foreseeable future. The elite too have their own form of meritocracy and, for the most part, their notion of 'inclusion' is mirrored in South Park where the only black kid in town is called "Token."

There is no requirement for a SCOTUS justice to be a lawyer, let alone even having any judicial experience.

Wild, considering, eh?

Black’s Law Dictionary notes they’re almost always personal friends of the President and either Harvard or Yale grads, and with rare exception white, make, protestant.

It's a patronage posting; to the victor go the spoils.

I know the Left currently hates the makeup of the court politically, for they desire political decisions above and beyond legal decisions (many of the most nation-changing decisions were of such a nature) which is why their angry rhetoric, threats against the justices and intimidating protests at their homes (I feel for the families). Very un-American, very distasteful. They should make the court an issue (instead of abortion*) and run political campaigns on that, the American Way, not the South American Socialist way.

* If they had the court, they wouldn't have to run on abortion.

In Canada, most judges were pure pork patronage appointments until recently, so most Provinces have Supreme Courts packed with the party faithful.

Another thought to add: The Left really hated Clarence Thomas' appointment, now THAT was Jim Crow 2.0...

Democrats truly showed that you can take them out of the South, but you cannot take the South out of Dem.

Guess they will have to change that now that was was appointed just for being a Black Women.

Elections have consequences which is why it looks like this election will lame-duck Joe Biden and why he'll have trouble getting Liberals on to the bench, and not just at the Supreme Court.

I still don’t understand how Biden let that happen… or what the trade-off was.

Let what happen?

Personally, I think that the time has come to end looking at race and begin looking at content of character.

The internet has changed so many paradigms that if enough people believe a company is acting in a discriminatory fashion, they can take to the internet and raise awareness across so many platforms. They can easily organize boycotts and protests.

That's called Liberty, Freedom, the right to association, etc.
