SJ, sweetie, I guarantee you are going to win the AH 2005 award for best AV's.

Where d'you keep getting them from??

Is there a reward for that?
I do have good av's with the exception of the "me" ones that have appeared recently.
And I completely agree with you about the talent shown in this competition.

At the moment it looks as if aquaglide1 is leading the last place contest unless anyone else can claim worse than an adjusted score of 2.8016?

Og

I'll come clean.

aquaglide1 is ahead of me in the Last Place contest.

Earth to Earth was rated at 4.50 with 16 votes and only 1655 views.

4.50 * 16/25 = 2.88

I thought I was bound to win with a Non-Erotic story about a funeral with Welsh names throughout. Perhaps I shouldn't have begged for votes on it.

I won't declare the result yet because someone else might have fewer votes even than hmmnmm, me or aquaglide1.

Any other claimants for the dubious honour of last place?

Og

DurtGurl holds the record for Worst Stories

DurtGurl's List of Horrors

These are Humor and Satire. You have been warned that they are BAD.

Then if you go to the Top List of Chain Stories you will find the AH's finest writing (I you believe that you'll believe anything!) listed as chapters of The Worst Chain Story Ever.

Og

If there are no other claimants vying for the dubious honour I will declare the result Wednesday (today) evening about 11 pm GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) i.e about 24 hours from now.

if it makes you feel any better someone 5-bombed me last night....4.17 at 18 for a 3.0024...wasn't you was it?

That 5 bomb was too late to count. It may be a better reflection of the real worth of your story but it can't affect the result of the last place contest.

If I can be allowed a word.

I read and voted on every Earth Day story. (Mainly cos mine was going belly-up.)

Whatever the result and whatever Ogg's logarithm's say, I now fully understand that contest winning is the real test. Anyone can write a stroke story that will get good scores.

Look back over the five years of contests and you will find treasures, the best writing lit has to offer. I just wish that L&M would showcase the contest entries more prominently.

From first to last, I salute you all, and if you want me to slide between your thighs and prove it, just let me know!!

Hear! Hear! Contest entries were one of the prime reasons I joined Lit. in the first place, not necessarily to enter but because of the writing standard.

I didn't quote it, Elf, but I also wouldn't be adverse to finding out more about the "sliding between your legs" part.

I know that the real contest is the one that matters. The last place contest is a bit of fun for those of us who are unlikely to win the main contest (although you never know, some of us might).

The standard of entries to these contests is amazing. All the contestants now tend to offer something much more than mere titillation and the winners have a little bit that makes their work stand out.

I enjoy the contest entries because they make us think about a theme and try to have a different view. 'Ordinary' stroke stories are unlikely to win these contests.

Entering a contest does attract trolls and sometimes vicious attacks from anonymous but I think the benefit to each of us who enter is worth much more than a normally submitted story.

Congratulations to the winners and all who entered.

That the Rumple unit somehow managed to submit a story that finished in the money is proof ANYONE might.

I want to give a tip of the hat to Dar~ (the writer formerly known as dndjsp) who had the unenviable job of winding up the "Lustful Leaves" trilogy. The last time I checked, her score was so low, it doesn't show up on the Chain Stories Top List. The last story on that three page list has a score of 3.08, so the magnitude of Dar~'s accomplishment should be obvious to all.

Dar~ also deserves recognition for giving us a quote for the ages. In fact, I'll be so bold as to say it was the best quote in the Earth Day contest.

"Yes, Earth man, I love your big woody in my tight sappy knot hole!"

Gotta love it.

The result - 12 hours late

I held off the announcement for a while and then my ISP connection failed.

In the absence of other shy claimants such as possibly dar~, the winner of the 2005 Earth Day Last Place contest is aquaglide1. Congratulations. You can now add a suitable line in your signature to show your achievement.

My story Earth to Earth is the runner-up, and by a few decimal points hmmnmm was very close to my result.

hmmnmm may well feel aggrieved that I took the penultimate place. A non-erotic story about a funeral is possibly not wholly fair.

Never mind. Congratulations and :nana: :nana: :nana: to aquaglide1

Indeed RF... a great effort (and I know since I was involved)... I think that perhaps... Dar simply did not claim her prize... I know that scores and votes tend to plumet with each installment.... and Lustfull leeves ch2 didn't qualify....

That was indeed a quote for the ages!!!!!

Oh yeah... since lustfull leeves (all three chapters) were born on this thread... thank ya all....

I think Dar is without computer right now, so she can't tell us her results. So maybe the winner of the last place contest shouldn't be announced till she can chime in?

pout :(

Aqua,

Pout not old champion. If Dar~ did show up to snatch the prize from your sweaty palms, think of the distinction of having LOST last place. As great an honor as being proclaimed the LOWEST OF THE LOW for this contest, imagine being able to claim you LOST to the Lowest of the Low. :D
