I was watching a show on dreams (I *think* it was filmed in 2009, so you may have seen it), and it was noted that when dreaming about sex, women only dream about having sex with their partner 20% of the time. (Note: they didn't say how many subjects they go this from, but this is from a lab in Montreal and they've recorded some 6,000 dreams--so likely a large sample, if limited to North American males/females.) Men, evidently, dream of it even less, some 1-out-of-7 times.
I'm not surprised, as dreams, from what researchers on this show say, are the mind working things out and if men think even briefly about sex with women they casually see, then it makes perfect sense that in their dreams they'd play out such scenarios. They saw a woman, thought about sex with her, and in their dreams they think about it some more.
But these little observations, surprising or obvious, do make me ponder anew on the popularity of the Loving Wives category...
They also suggest a plot bunny or two.
