Back in the Dark Ages, a select group of magic-wielding templars, called Paladins, hunted magic creatures all over Europe and Asia, believing them all to be the spawn of Satan. The vampire covens were nearly wiped out, so they went into hiding. The packs of werewolves vanished into forests and woodlands. The faeries disappeared into the realms of magic.
The dragons, however, could not just vanish. They had to adapt. They transformed themselves into humans with the intention of maintaining their power and longevity, but soon found they had no magic and short lives after the change. Within a century, the elder dragons died off as normal humans. But they passed their bloodline along to their children, and their children's children.
The Paladins soon found themselves with little to do save for the rare werewolf attack on a farm or mountain home, or maybe the occasional vampire sighting. Soon magic and these creatures became nothing more than old legends, as did the Paladins themselves.
In today's modern world. the Paladins still exist, but as a secret society with members in big corporations and government agencies. In recent years, the human descendants of the elder dragons have started to get their magic back. It's still a very rare occurrence, but the bloodlines have been steadily regaining power since the change over a thousand years ago.
My character is one of these reborn dragons. He was orphaned at a young age and inherited the family manor. He is a junior member of the Draconic Order, which is made up of other reborn dragons. Currently, there are only a few hundred "Awakened" dragons in the entire world, with a few new ones each year. The oldest dragons in the Order were Awakened during World War I and II, and some of their children and grandchildren were born Awakened or did so shortly before or during puberty. Other people who had nothing to do with these first reborn dragons Awakened all on their own.
Your character is a young dragon that has recently Awakened, and you have been placed in my character's care for training. Preferably, she is eighteen or nineteen, or at least younger than twenty-three. Maybe she's had her powers since she was younger and never knew why, and the Order has just now discovered her. It's your call.
As for extra characters, I'd be open to turning this into a group thread, depending on the characters. Please PM me character ideas and images. First I want to choose and secure my character's apprentice/love interest, and then depending on what she wants, we may allow others to play. If we do, you guys/girls can play other reborn dragons that are either in the Order or are also new apprentices, or even a faerie/vampire/werewolf/whatever that has joined the Order and pretends to be a normal human.
