The Designated Drunk Posting Thread

Hangovers are the reason I drink so rarely these days (sympathies, Far, but it sounds like you had a blast!). I've tried all the sensible things - eating first to line my stomach, having water in between alcoholic drinks, and then yet more water at the end of the night, but these days a night on the booze inevitably means a blinding headache that takes up to three days to go.

So, has anyone found the absolute sure fire way to avoid or cure the morning-after agonies?

Instead of water you could try dioralytes. ( combined with the sensible eating)

Also, things like including foods like watermelon with a decent breakfast ( and more dioralyte).

I love alcohol, but do not like being 'drunk'. Just relaxed. Limiting your intake might also be a wAy to go? Just enough to 'relax' or enough to 'giggle' but the right amount to still walk along a straight line, just less than you perhaps might if not 'not worrying' about hangover? While I am not drinking now, I know my tolerance is a lot lower now than it used to be. I am now a cheaper date :D

Elle, I can get a hangover off one drink these days!! I haven't been completely drunk in years because the consequences aren't worth it, but it would be nice, as you say, to have a sociable drink or two now and then just to relax and unwind.

Try the dioralytes. Also, is it whatever you drink? The same with ALL wines? Some are are more prone to headaches, and spirits? What about say, champagne? You might just be an expensive one drink date ;)

I tend to stick to low alcohol beers, and very occasionally a glass of white wine (red just gives me a headache straight away). Thinking about it, I do tolerate champagne, but I think I'd need a lottery win before that could become my drink of choice ;)

1) limit intake
2) avoid mixing various kinds of alcohol - this seems to make things worse for most people (beer/ wine/ mixed drinks/ shots *oh my*)
3) consume a non-alcoholic beverage (glass of water or similar) for every alcoholic beverage you ingest. The primary cause of a "hangover" is the dehydration which deprives your organs, but notably your BRAIN, of enough hydration to function properly thus leading to raging headaches, nausea, vomiting and in the worst cases, death, by alcohol poisoning.

Geez, guys.

It was an accident! :(

Wine? Drink GOOD wine, you won't be hungover.

Beer, don't suck it down. (oops)
Eat. (oops)
Water. (oops)
More water. (see above)
Don't take pics of boobs, especially when you are drunk. (Well...? I was blurry eyed and thought I had 4. Had to capture.)
Don't send CnC booty pics. :p

Next day eat McDonald's and drink coke. Or start an IV.

I usually don't get like that. Especially from beer. It was my underlying giddy mood. I think mojo, or high (or low) psyche can influence my buzz as well.

The band??? Good stuff. Strong, sexy voiced female singer, amazing guitarist. They fed off each other well.

I had a cucumber Moscow mule at a party this afternoon. Then four nice IPAs tonight at a concert. It was spaced out pretty well. Just a minor feel good buzz tonight 😊

We should really do this for a living. Split the country in half and do IV recovery.
There is so much money in that.

ha - yup. :rose:

I think I would lose patience though with
self inflicted illness when there are so many people who are actually ill...actually suffering and not by their own decisions.:rolleyes:
