The Crossover (closed for such_a_bad_man)

Vixen wasn't sure what brought about the awkward lead in to Jack's update, but she tried to brush it off. It was good to have something else to think about beside the way he had her cradled in his arms.

"Mm, good," she managed, she gave herself a moment before continuing, "And the woman?" She croaked.

"Knocked unconscious... A concentrated bolt of Infinium particles tends to do that. I think I made her boyfriend mad though..." He said, grinning as they neared the Towers now.

"Okay, hang on..." He said, lining up with the patio/runway again. He slipped in so easily and set down on the tile surface before setting Vixen on her feet. He turned off the field and felt the usual sag of gravity kicking back in as they settled onto their feet. His hands were still on her hips as the energy washed away. He looked down into her eyes, feeling his gaze flick to her lips briefly.

"I'm... just glad you're okay..." he finally said, not moving to let her go yet.

Vixen nodded gravely upon hearing that the woman had been dealt with. Good.

"Hell, and I thought w-we were an odd pair," she quipped. It still hurt her throat to do so, but it was getting easier each time.

Vixen fell silent as they approached Argent Towers, allowing Jack to concentrate on the landing. She held on to his shoulder lightly as he set her down, but his hands on her hips helped keep her upright. Then he lowered the shield and she groaned, stumbling a bit as gravity hit her again.

"Thanks to you," she replied, looking up at him with a gentle smile and eyes full of genuine appreciation.

Jack's eyes lingered on hers for a moment too long. "Uh, let's get inside and make sure you're okay." He says, finally letting her go. Like the front door, there was a series of noises from the sliding door as Jack approached and a few clicks as he grasped the handle and pulled it open. He stepped into the spacious lounge again, pulling his goggles off and the cowl of his suit. He sighed and rubbed his head a little, fluffing his hair back out again after being matted down inside his suit.

Turning back to Vixen, he watched how she walked, making sure she hadn't been injured in the legs or a brain injury. "If you'd like I do have a small medical room here. I can have Jeeves give you a look and see if anything's wrong." He offered, not sure how fast she healed.

Vixen followed Jack in on slightly shaky but otherwise fine legs. She watched as he took off his goggles and cowl, and fluffed his hair up. She couldn't help but smile a little. As much as she had come to appreciate the hero in the suit, it was the man beneath it that really caught her attention.

As she walked she wished that she could take her boots off, but she didn't want to be presumptuous, especially not in such a personal space for Jack. When he offered her the medical room she bit her lip, taking a mental inventory of her injuries. Her throat was getting better slowly, her ribs still ached but she didn't think anything was broken...

"I should be fine, but if I could have a glass of water please that would be amazing... or tea with honey if you have it..." she asked, her eyes lingering on his face.

Jack nodded. "Tea with honey... and please, relax. I have a feeling we're going to be here all night trying to figure out where they are going." He gestured to her slightly impractical looking boots. Even so, she never seemed to have trouble getting around in them.

He went into the kitchen from the portion that served as his dining room. There was the sound of running water then the click of a gas heater flicking on. He came through to the hall from the kitchen and spoke to her there. "Be back in a second..." he said before ascending to the upper floor. Jack ducked into his suiting room and got out of his suit and hung everything back up. When he came down, he was in just a loose undershirt that still clung to him slightly and a pair of loose gym shorts. Clearly, he kept it light under his suit as it must be warm as hell for him.

He didn't stop to chat, instead, he ducked into the kitchen as the whistle started to blow. Moments later, he came out, carrying a small tray. On it, there was a steaming carafe, a tea cup and saucer, a small container of milk, sugar, honey, lemon and an assortment of teas. "There you are." He said, setting it on the low table in the lounge. "Sorry, but Jeeves isn't a very good butler, being an AI computer program." He said as he sat back down.

Vixen nodded, looking around at the seating options and sinking onto one of the plush couches with a slightly undignified groan. She leaned back, letting her eyes shut as she heard Jack potter about elsewhere. She took long, deep breaths as she waited for him, once more sensing how she was feeling and finding that things were slowly getting better. She was pleased that the woman didn't manage to hurt her enough for things to be serious. Still, it was a shock that she had been hurt at all. It reminded her, for the first time in her life, that she wasn't totally invulnerable.

When Jack returned she opened her eyes and smiled at him, sitting up a little straighter.

"You're amazing, thankyou," she said as he set the tray down. She looked at all the options and smiled. "And you hardly need a butler anyway, you're so good at it. At least you know that if heroing fails and the tech industry lets you down..." She trailed off as she set about pouring herself a cup of green tea. She skipped the sugar and milk and poured some lemon and honey in instead. She would have offered to make one for Jack, but there was only the one tea cup.

When she was done she took the cup and saucer and settled back into the ground, taking a sip of the tea and moaning in appreciation as it ran smoothly down her throat.

Jack smiled as she sipped and relaxed back into the couch. "I just want to make sure people are taken care of. It makes me feel like all this is doing something worthwhile." He said, sinking down to sit beside her.

"You sure you want to leave those boots on? I mean, they make for a striking look, but they can't be great to stay in long-term..." he suggested, smiling at her.

Vixen smiled as she heard Jack's reasoning. This city was lucky to have him. She followed his line of sight as he looked at her boots and she nodded.

"I would love to.. Thank you. I wasn't sure if I should ask or not..." She trailed off as she put her cup and saucer on the table and unzipped her boats, signing happily as the pressure reduced. Once she was done she set them aside and curled her bare legs under her.

Jack smiled as he watched her boots come off. The legs beneath them were so toned and athletic. He just wanted to run his hands on them. When she folded her legs under her as she relaxed, something about how she sat made him pause. Vixen was a dangerous, capable woman. But ultimately, she was just like him. She was just a person at the end of the day. He smiled as he saw her perched there, sipping away and relaxing; it was like he'd brought a friend over to hang out.

"Anything else I can get you?" He asked, feeling his eyes walking her body. Okay, maybe not just a friend...

Vixen had a whole host of answers to Jack's question dancing about in her mind: Their enemies tied up and ready for the police... That woman's head on a spike... a solution that will help all of her kids at school... An idea of whether any advance from her would be welcome or not....

"No, I-" she looked up at him, really enjoying the way that he looked all casual and relaxed. She bit her lip, unable to resist the instinct to lean a little closer.

Jack looked over, seeing Vixen fighting some battle in her head before she spoke. Then, she said something and leaned into him. He was a little surprised at first, but then he felt the hand on his chest, her body against his and he knew what she wanted. She'd been holding it back all this time and to be honest, so had he. He didn't move away as she leaned in. Feeling her move against him, he leaned back into her and met her lips part way. He kissed her softly, probing gently to see if this was what she wanted.

"Oh..." Vixen sighed as Jack closed the gap between them and kissed her. It was sweet, it was tentative, and she knew that if she pulled back now then he wouldn't hold it against her.

But she didn't want to pull back.

Vixen's hand slip up from Jack's chest and over his shoulder to gently cup the back of his head. She returned the kiss now, firm enough that he would know that this is exactly what she wanted, but not so firm as to hurt him. She was terribly conscious of the fact that his bones would be so brittle beneath her strength if she got carried away. She slipped her tongue into his mouth, tilting her head to the side and giving herself over to the sweet taste of him.

Jack was so relieved as he felt Vixen kissing him back. He let her grab hold of him as his hands slid around her shapely waist. He pulled her to him gently, helping her to straddle his lap so it would be easier to kiss her. He moaned softly as he felt the undercurrent of her strength jsut behind her lips. He instantly respected her control in moments like this. It had to be so hard to keep control in moments of passion. Even so, he could feel her giving into the feelings of the kiss. Slowly, his hands settled on her hips as he just held her and kissed her, over and over.

She had kissed him back and he didn't break it. Instead he pulled her closer, guided her to settle onto his lap. She did, her legs spreading over his gym shorts as she held herself barely above his groin. Both hands now cradled his cheeks as she moaned against his lips.

Hell, this was better than she had imagined. It had been so, so long since she had enjoyed the comfort of a man, and even longer since she had thought to feel something so tender for one. But Jack was perfect, there was no question about it. He knew her, the real her-

Vixen stopped, pulling back and biting her tender lips.

He knew the real her, but there was a whole half that he knew nothing about.

She looked at Jack a little sheepishly.

"This... You.. You are amazing," she said. Then she realized what it might sound like she was trying to do. "I want you, Jack... But... Not like this..." She brushed her fingers over the smooth material of her mask. There was a question in her words, a silent warning. She wanted to continue, but if she did he would have to accept her, keep her secret. That was a decision he had to make, and she would not rush him into it.

Jack looked up, questions written on his face as Vixen broke the kiss. Then, as she spoke, he understood why she stopped. She wanted him to love all of her and not just Vixen. He simply nodded, sitting up a little. "I showed you so much of my life because I wanted you to trust me. I hope that you will trust me with this as well. I hope you know by now that I'll honor your wishes and keep any secret you share. Please put your faith in me." He said, reaching up and cupping her cheek.

Vixen's eyes widened, prickling with emotion as Jack spoke. She leant into his touch and took a deep breath. He wanted to know her, all of her... It felt so good that he did, yet she had never been so vulnerable.

With shaking, gloved fingers she reached up. She gently grasped at the edges of her mask and peeled it back. She was completely bare underneath, no make up as it made her mask shift too much. When she was done she set the small scrap of fabric onto the arm of the couch. She looked down into his eyes, watching his emotions as she unveiled herself. Her hands slipped up to her scalp, she pulled out a few pins and after a moment she slid the platinum blonde locks off to reveal her fiery red ones.

"I... Uh, I hope you don't mind red-heads," she said a little bashfully, looking away from his face, unable to look into his eyes while he processed this...

Jack watched as the mask came off. As it did, he narrowed his eyes. He'd seen this face before, but the hair was all wrong....

Until that slipped off as well.

"Scarlett Jones!" He said in a gasped whisper, cupping his hands over his mouth. His eyes wide as he recognized the teacher from Jack Abraham's school in an instant. A moment went by as Jack was clearly putting things together from the past few weeks.

"That's why you operate at night.... how you knew about Jack... Why you care so much..." He said before smiling warmly.

"I nearly tried to get your number at the school, but the timing felt wrong. I was so sure you'd think I was a creep for picking you up right after doing something nice for Jack... that you'd think it was a quid pro quo..." He confessed, chuckling lightly as it all seemed so silly now.

Jack's gasp chased away Vixen's fears and made her smile. She turned back to him as he pieced it all together out loud. When he mentioned trying to get her number at the school she gave him a wry smile and a chuckle.

"You are right about that... All of it," she said with a nod. "It is also why I had to contact you at such ungodly hours of the morning. I run the Breakfast Program more often than not, and when I don't I have meetings..." She trailed off, a hint of apology in her voice.

Jack sat forward, sliding his arms around her waist. "I hope the next time you have to talk with me in the morning, it's on your way out." He grinned, leaning up and kissing her a little harder, a little deeper as hi hand slide up her spine and his body pressed against hers.

Vixen moaned into the kiss, Jack's words holding a suggestion that she thoroughly appreciated. She placed her hands on his chest, dragging them down the rich cotton of his shirt as she did. She took in the shape of his body beneath the clothes, remembering that time she saw him shirtless. She wanted to see it again. She took the hem of his shirt in her hands and pulled it up, breaking the kiss for only long enough to take it off.

Jack easily and eagerly lifted his arms for Scarlett, letting her take it off before resuming the kiss. It felt so good to feel her curves against his bare body, but it was time to see her out of her suit like he had so long fantasized. He slid his hands up her back and found the catch at the back of her neck before popping the snaps open. He found that it was also keeping a zipper closed so he started easing it down slowly, ready to stop if she indicated that she wasn't ready for that.

Vixen wanted to look at him but she knew there would be time for that later. Instead she kissed him, hungry for him. As his fingers undid the snaps and started to slide the zipper down she moaned. Her skin was much more sensitive than a normal person, but if she was undressing herself she was prepared for it. But Jack undressing her was different. The sound of the zip alone was enough to make her squirm, and the way the suit peeled open at the back as he opened it exposed her skin to the cool air of his apartment. It was tantalizing.

Jack paused as the zipper reached the bottom. He leaned her back in his arms as he looked into her eyes. "Are you ready?" He asked, giving her a chance to change her mind. This was going to change a lot for both of them and he wanted to be sure neither one of them saw this as a mistake. He couldn't help a furtive glance to her heaving chest as her suit went slack on her skin.

Vixen caught the quick glance, she could see the lust in his eyes. His words had a tone of a question, an acknowledgement that they were about to cross another line.

"I was ready when I took off the mask," she told him in a sexy, lust laden tone. She looked down into his eyes as she reached up, peeling the straps of her suit down. Further and further until her heaving breasts were finally free...
