The Construction Thread

I got the scratch in my loafers taken care of. I know you all were as worried about them as I was so I decided to share the good news.:D

Hey no fair picking on the new guy!

And for your information I did not burn a hole in my polo shirt………………the hole is in my kakies and I scuffed my loafers. Fucking things were brand new. I ask you who the fuck leaves angle iron laying around on the floor of a fab shop? Don’t you welders know us well dressed office pukes have to cross the shop floor from time to time?

The new guys are allowed to sweep the shop, if the super isn't doing it......

I can see I will get no love from this crowd.

I have been collecting slugs from the beam punch for a few weeks now. By the end of the month the shop foreman is going to rip a nut when he tries to pick up his lunch box! Fucking angle on the floor……..I paid $100 for these shoes.

A couple scrapes on your shoes? And only $100?

LOL......

Right on. I was trying to explain this in the WTC thread, but some yuppie architecture snobs weren't getting it.

This is true, but it's fucking sad.

The guys who know this shit don't seem to post here anymore. They were part of the diaspora.
They have to go where the work is. That's alright.

But that this country couldn't build again what it did in the 1970's?

That's hard.

Tragedy

Well guys...a little prayer please.

Yesterday we had an 80T crane drive too close to an excavation and roll in and kill a guy.

He was packed up and moving. Turns out he was backing up.

Hope I didn't ruin this thread,

That is unfortunate when stuff like that happens. As a mobile crane operator I'm always curious as to why things like that (the crane rolling, not that someone got hurt) happen.

I need help. Where the drywall meets the ceiling I now have a 1/2 inch gap. It's like my walls are shrinking. I had a guy come out and he replaced the top section of my drywall. During the winter it did the same thing again. My house is about 150 year old stone home. I had it gutted and totally renovated to modernize it. So I doubt this is being caused my my house settling as I was told by a contractor.

What maybe the problem? Any suggestions on how to permanently fix this problem?

Crown moulding......

I am not sure if this technique would work for your application but a floating wall is often used where the foundation settling.

Now that's something I did not consider. I'm not sure if it fits the decor of the room. I really have no eye for that sort of thing. I will consult my designer. Thanks

It's used to hide a multitude of sins. You can always throw a board up there, too, just nail it to the ceiling.

That is where is goes according to the prints.

Talk to the guy in the burned up Polo and scratched loafers if you got a problem with it.

Are you still using the axis line that was laid out in green chalk?

Can't you see how we rubbed it out and snapped the new one in pink?
