The Construction Thread

Is the warm body theorem similar to "the heat is in the tools" theorem?

Body warmth is inversely proportional to the length of time since you were last in school. You've heard of warm bodies in the field?

Long as we are talking lap joints, flat position, no thicker than 1/8th, no corners, I can tig like a champ.

I am getting an image of you sitting in a trailer calling people "dumbass" over the Nextel. White hard had, company truck, and ice cream.

I was just talking to someone about a TV show that had a guy talking about concrete. You could see a guy in the background cutting a form board and he had the guard pinned on his skillsaw! OSHA would love to see that.

Nice ladder(s) technique!

Sorry about stretching the page, but this is big ductwork.

That's some serious duct. It looks like it would be a really cool modular space-house.

Who does the rigging when you go to set something that big?

Looking at the picking eyes, I'm wondering what gauge steel that thing is made of.

That guy is cruising for a fall, too.

Who does the rigging FOR us? Get the fuck outta here. The rigging is done by us. Not so sure about the rest of the world, but in Denver we take care of our own. Pieces like that can be very light or very heavy depending on what it is being used for.

wouldn't the weight depend more on what it is made out of rather than what it is used for?

I'm pricing a baghouse right now
The inlet duct is 1/4" plate a bit over 16' dia
