I just saw something about a Prudoe Bay-Chicago pipeline.
Maybe that's just a second avenue subway-style pipe dream.
"ConocoPhillips chief 'optimistic' the Mackenzie Valley pipeline will see progress
Claudia Cattaneo, Financial Post Published: Friday, April 25, 2008
Jim Mulva, chief executive of ConocoPhillips, said yesterday that he is "pretty optimistic" the stalled Mackenzie Valley natural-gas pipeline will see some movement this year. In a conference call with analysts, Mr. Mulva said that the Mackenzie project will be built before the larger Alaska gas pipeline, although he indicated that the startup dates for both projects remain uncertain. The Houston-based oil company, the third-largest in the United States, is involved in both proposals to move stranded Arctic gas reserves to the market. "In terms of purchase of steel and use of services to do these pipelines, it make sense for Mackenzie Delta to come first," Mr. Mulva said yesterday. " It's further along than the gas pipeline in Alaska.""
