I became a qualified Rigger this day.

Before long, I will have forgotten the maximum temperature at which you can use 80 grade chain slings, the allowable number of broken wires in one lay of wire rope, the correct fleet angle for grooved drums, the @#$%% formula for the volume of a conical shape, and all the other useless info, and be back to doing everything by guess and rule of thumb.

But for now I feel very expert.

Congrats!

Keep the numbers and whatnots on your phone. Memory is too valuable to waste on such things.
 
Wow!! Sorry I just found this thread....

I've got 30+ years to post about....

Mostly just my amazement at the amount of people making boatloads of cash, but have no common sense, or just plain miss the forest because the trees are in the way...
