Fertility rates are falling worldwide and doing so precipitously. If current trends continue the world population will fall to approximately half of what it is now by the year 2150. Contrary to what JE believes to be true, this is occurring in third world and undeveloped nations as well.

Looking at this from the bright side there will be less energy required and therefore less pollution. Food requirements dramatically decreased meaning less pressure on the arable lands. More space for everyone every where. The benefits of a severely reduced human population are legion.

As always though, there is a downside. Unintended consequences as it were. At what point does the collapse of the population bring with it a collapse of society as well? What is the minimum population required t

People need to start having more sex ..stat!

Fewer democrat abortions, more democrat babies.
That suggests that all abortions would've resulted in a viable childbirth (not to mention continues to advance the invalid claim you made earlier)

That doesn’t suggest that at all!

You can keep a tally!

Butters suggested yesterday she carried a dead baby, so there’s 1.

You can ask the others and get back to us.

Of course it does. How would you suggest population increases when a live birth doesn't happen?
Sounds like someone’s mourning a new child support payment he was hoping to snuff out.

Thanks.

I was trying to steer people away from your “ all babies are aborted or stillborn” post.

You have some very creepy ideas.
The point ade was basically that an decrease in abortion will increase population. My interpretation was that it would be a significant shift

Though seeing as though population is not really decreasing, it's a moot point overall

Is it really true that, "If current trends continue the world population will fall to approximately half of what it is now by the year 2150?" I certainly hope so. Fewer people mean that there is more of everything good to go around.

On page 41 of A Farewell to Alms Professor Gregory Clark, of Economics at the University of California, Davis, has a chart that demonstrates that from 1300 to 1450 real wages for English laborers more than doubled. The reason was not an increase in productivity or a strong labor movement. The reason was that during the fourteenth century bubonic plague had killed an estimated half of the English population. With fewer people competing for jobs, wages increased. With fewer people buying stuff, prices declined.

But it did not last. With a higher standard of living more English got married. They got married earlier. They had more children. When the English population rose to what it had been before the bubonic plague epidemic, real wages declined to nearly what they had been in 1300.

The less people the better.

World population may drop to 5% of current population in the next few centuries, then slowly climb back up to a billion sometime next millennium. Seven billion is unlikely to happen again for the remainder of humanity's time on earth.

It might!

I’d be happy if the fat chicks trimmed down.

The earth’s axis depends on it.

China’s Population To Drop By Half, Immigration Helps U.S. Labor Force

Stuart Anderson

I write about globalization, business, technology and immigration.

China’s population is projected to drop by half by 2100, calling into question the country’s future economic growth in the face of a sharp decline in its labor force. In contrast, America’s population and labor force is likely to be sustained if the Trump administration’s policy of reducing U.S. immigration level is reversed.

The population of China is projected to decline from 1.4 billion in 2017 to 732 million by 2100, a drop of 48%, according to a new report published in the medical journal The Lancet and authored by University of Washington School of Medicine Professor Stein Emil Vollset and 23 coauthors. The number of people of working age in China is expected to plummet. The report forecasts a decline of 64% for China's population aged 20–24 years. That is the prime age for a country’s military, the authors note.
