For the longest time I was a Stetson man. I still like it but for the last few years I've been wearing Joop. It's gotten to the point where I can't even smell it anymore so perhaps it's time to switch again.

There is a perfume (body spray?) that a woman who used to work with me wore. I have yet to smell anything else as good. Pure Seduction by Victoria's Secret.

So, guys and gals, what's your preference?

I hate working with men who smell like the Brazilian National Football team...

;) ;)

From Jersey Boys:

What's that fragrance?

It's called soap...

Wow. Awesome thread.

I fell in love with this japanese brand that I discovered in Macy's when I visitted the US many years ago, and I used to wear it for years.

But damn! They discontinued that particular fragrance and I can't recall the name of the brand either.

We still have a Macy's in the Bootheel...

;)

For how much longer, I have no idea.
Macy's going down.
It used to be a high end store for the middle class (high quality things at much more affordable prices) but now it's filled with cheap things 'made in China'. They still have a lot of good stuff, but you have to sort through a lot of crap until you find them.

I guess they had to make those changes in order to survive then, when people stopped spending after the economic crash.

i don't wear cologne, but i don't hate it. i just think a little goes a long way. sadly, most people who actually wear cologne or perfume seem to disagree with me. hint: if you can smell it on you all day and you wear it all the time that basically means you fucking reek of it. tone it the fuck down.

They lost their status as a 'destination' store.

A lot of places are losing that status as online sales pick up.

The Queen and Princess still shop there from time-to-time, but their interest is more in niche stores and not stores that try to sell a little bit of everything...

It's mood enhancing.
I just dab a bit on my nostrils when I'm in a sour mood or I need to get more creative.

Yea I'll pay your cab fare home
You can even use my best cologne
Just don't be here in the morning when I wake up, c'mon honey

Annik goutal's eau de hadrein

Caron- Narcisse Noir

Chanel - Cuir Russe

Worth- Je Reviens

Gres- Cobachard

Guerlain - Mitsouko and also Nehema

The first two are or were my favorites, but I can't wear scent at present and am not thrilled with the reformulations.

Many people are into the hipe and status of Chanel #5 but some are into the actual fragrance within. Chanel's line.

I'm prejudiced because my mom wears it when she goes somewhere more festive, and it doesn't suit her at all. Plus she sprays buckets of it on herself, and you can smell it from the other end of the house.

She has good taste in general in a low key sortof way, but she always overdoes it with perfume.

Chanel Mademoiselle is by far the most incredible scent I've ever encountered.

Chanel Allure is also fantastic.

In choosing my colognes, I got a consensus from the women I worked with. I had a couple of men's magazines & tore out the cologne ad strips. I had about 15 of them. I asked the girls to pick their top three and bottom three. From their results, I chose their top 2:

Perry Ellis 18
Eau de Toilette Essential

The ladies almost unanimously hated the cologne from Burberry.

Soap and water regularly works just fine for men and women. Some of that smelly stuff will choke a horse.

I don't even use scented soap, or laundry detergent.

All the fancy shit will just make all the bugs want a piece of your sweet smellin' ass.

I've been wearing a lot of 2 cycle exhaust and wood chips lately....a pine/fir/cedar blend.

This!

Eau de Deet in the summer

I usually wear a scent that is a mix of pot, leather and oil. Occasionally will wear a wood smoke and fish scent.
