are there any other goths out there? i have a hard time believing im the only goth member. whether you are a "hardcore" goth or just someone who dabbles in it once in a while...make yourself at home. discuss whatever you want or just vent your frustrations. well...children of the night, come on out of the shadows for a minute and say hello

You're a Goth?

I should have seen this coming but you so duped me on this one. Your avs now make sense, lol

Btw Bi I am not a Goth although I look like when I dress in black. Us pale people are so misunderstood.

I must say with the dark red hair...and the rings... dark eyes... I look goth when naked :D

What kind of mood do you have to be in to look goth---naked?
do tell do tell ;)

I remember seeing the "goth" kids in high school, the kids that wore black and were generally thought of as kind of scary or completely weird... I even wanted to be one at one point...
My question is: What IS it exactly? :)

my thoughts on this are that its an attitude/life style. as a goth, i used the "scary/completely weird" image to keep people away from me. i, generally, dont like to be bothered. also, i know it seems a lil cliche, but it was my way of being different in a small high school full of clones...and i didnt want to be part of "the herd" as it were. to me, the goth thing represented a departure from the group mentality that seems to be very pervasive (is that the word i want?) in high school/teenagers. i dont get riled up easily. i think things through and make my own decisions. things people say about/to me role off my back. im a stereotypical goth in that i find beauty in things some would find "ugly". i enjoy the night more than the day (im a night owl lol) i own a ton of black clothing and i wear black nail polish and make-up (though in recent years its just been nail polish and even then rarely)

that answer your question?

I think so... I guess I always wondered if the people who were labeled "goth" really were or not. Self-proclamations always tend to make me a bit skeptical. I mean, sure... I suppose you are whatever you say you are. But if you're going to say it and want others to believe it, you've got to look the part... or else what would have been the point?
I thought: Was it about these people that makes them "goth?" Because if it's the clothes and makeup, catch me on the right day and I'm wearing black with the best of them. Is it their personality, and attitude towards life? Because again, catch me on the right day and that could be me as well.
I've never been much for labels anyway, to me... they mean close to nothing. :rose:
I've also never liked the idea of people being goth to be different. Because 90% of them say that... So they are going to be different by being just like all the OTHER goth people? Hmm... makes sense... I guess... not...?
Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with them and am not trying to bash them... I guess I just really want to understand... and get in my two cents at the same time... heh

Ooooh she's got em peirced too!... Goths only frighten me for one reason... they often take more time to get ready than I do... and while I may be a 'preppy' girly-girl/little girl...I can be out of the house in no time flat;)...beat that Binary :D
