THE BOYS PROJECT

The mission of The Boys Project is to help young males develop their capabilities and reach the potential that their families and teachers know they have. The Boys Project seeks to accomplish for young men what the Girls Project so successfully accomplished for young women--- to increase academic skills, to increase college success, and to develop the confidence, drive, and determination to contribute to American society.

THE "BOY CRISIS"

Since the late 1970's, young women have soared in college attendance while young men have stagnated. Young men's literacy is declining. Many young men are disengaging from school. Young men are less likely to be valedictorians, to be on the honor roll, and to be active in organizations like student government. Young men are more likely to get D's and F's, to be suspended or expelled from school, to drop out of school, and to commit suicide.

We are losing young boys to a sense of failure that comes from schooling poorly adapted to their needs. We are losing adolescent males to the depression that comes from feeling neither needed nor respected. We are losing young men to life tracks that include neither college nor any other energetic endeavor.

A large, sullen, poorly educated group of men will not keep the nation vital in the twenty-first century. The nation needs the energy, initiative, and ambition of its young men as well as its young women.

Thanks. What galls me is that people who are parents of boys don't seem to care that educators are failing their sons because the feminists convinced the education system that boys don't matter as much as girls, if at all. Parents should sue the department of education, along with N.O.W. and the ACLU because they're opposing same-sex education, which has been known to help boys do better.

It amazes me the groups that sceam for equality suddenly reverse their course when it's not in their interests.

You've never met a feminist, have you ?

Shelters for women ? Sure. Shelters for women ? Nope.

Health coverage for women ? Sure. State-funded. Health coverage for men ? Nope. Must be paid out of pocket.

Sentence for female criminals ? Probation. Thanks to excuses ( ask Andrea Yates). Sentence for male criminals ? Jail.

Sorry for saying anything in this way to , but you know shit for bricks, and I can relate to a local problem in Denmark.

Where it is both boys and girls, where after 5. grade, then the motherfucking public school teachers won´t care if the pupils can read, and write the Danish language, and they don´t care if you get an "F" in the final exam.

And since the 70´s where , women wanted a soft man, then the female teachers began making the male pupils little sissy/pussy boys, without any kind of normal fighting energy. And the feminist movement was at large back then, heck my last Danish teacher was one of those VERY freaky women. (an extreme feminist living with cats, and she is also a mambojambo woman, who is a healer, and all that kind of woodoo shit).

Now some women wants a strong, and very sweiny man who treats them as shit or slaves, sorry if I offend any woman who disagree, since it is not pointed at you lovely women.(since I know I am generalising quite alot).

So I can relate alot of stuff to what SamuelX, says. I am just sorry, that my post looks so messed up, since that is my mind where it is messed up. And me ? I am a flexible man, who can be strong when needed, and I can be soft when needed. But I won´t disrespect a woman, or treat them like dirt. But I won´t be under any ones heel either.

And let's not get started on the inequities in the child custody and alimony decisions that go on every day.

Even Social Security allows a woman to retire early at 60 and a man not until 62. This makes no sense since a woman has a longer life expectancy.

What is it going to take for American Men to stand up for their rights as Men ?

Men as a group are being attacked legally in courts and by popular culture.

Why ?

Where I'm from, we're a liberal nation. We've even had a woman president, long ago. But Haitian men would burn down the government if it discriminated against them the way the U.S. Government discriminates against the average American males.

I guess there's something in the water that makes American men less manly than men of other cultures.

SamuelX: I hear you man !

YES, Wolfman ! I always carry flyers about The Boys Project and the Domestic Abuse Helpline For Men and Women on my person. I give them to folks anywhere I go. A party. A friends house. The subway. The bus. The cab. Anywhere.

These are issues concerning all men, and any man, or person who cares about a man, should take heed !

SamuelX: but listen, don´t hate all women, since the women movement started because of all the male schuvinistic laws and stuff, back in the last century, so again alot has changed, but not all people have. And well again, there are lots of different things going on, and not just feminist stuff. But I really do understand you.

And rjp44 is either a woman, or a man. Who don´t know when it is time to fight for his rights.
