It's worth noting that often what we consider truths are in fact not truths but internalized negativity often seeded there by our early caregivers.
Everyone has "truths" that are in fact due to being told or telling themselves negatives. Everyone revises history and has a skewed perspective.
I'm listening to Stephanie Mills now. I had to get the CD out of my car where I usually need it the most. Her song "I feel good," makes me feel much better often.
The first time I tried positive affirmations I didn't expect it to work but I was at wits end and ready to try anything as long as I was pretty sure it wouldn't hurt me. I'll be damned! It did work!
Life can be good sometimes.

I've had friends, who when theyr'e bashing themselves, I've asked. "Who's voice is in your head right now?"
When I feel stupid I hear my mom's voice. When I feel unloveable it's hers, too.
I try to be very careful of what I say to my kids. I want, when they are adults, to hear GOOD voices in their heads.
