what do you think is the biggest fuck up you ever witnessed? Not screw up mind you, not mistake, but a reputation tarnishing fuck up.

Many come to mind, but nothing worse than Dan Quayle's P-O-T-A-T-O-E.....even if he was doing it just to patronize the kids....he will go down in history as an ass...

What's the biggest fuck up you've ever witnessed?

the ferrari f1 team for ordering rubens barrichello to pull up yards from the finish line to let his team mate schumacherpast for the win at the austrian grand prix what a complete fuck up

"I did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinsky " -- rehearsed and staged denial by Bill Clinton

Funny how this statement may end up being one of the most famous of the 20th century. Maybe right up there with "peace in our time" uttered by Neville Chamberlain in 1938 when he gave a country of innocent people away to Hitler in an appeasement effort.

I'm too young to remember the exact quote but its something along the lines of...

" Read my lips. No New Taxes " - George W Bush Sr.

P.S. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that quote.

Actually, the quote was "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." When I first heard it, that day, and noticed that the used the term "sexual relations" over the simpler word "sex," I knew they had sex. But precision of language (some would call it prevaricating, or just plain lying) is a tool of the trades: lawyer, politician, diplomat.

Maybe it'll be the most misquoted phrase of the late 20th Century.

Or maybe it'll be "I am not a crook." Now for presidential fuck ups, Nixon is still the man. Clinton may have been impeached, but he wasn't removed from office; his sins were personal, not political. Nixon quit before the axe could fall, and his crimes most definitely had to do with manipulating the political process.

The Challenger explosion, It was seen by the world in realtime, embaressesd NASA for years, plus it killed innocent people who trusted the individuals responsible for their safety.:(

What is it that drives a man to seek the presidency? Maybe the underlying drive is for power and that brings some interesting individuals to the table. Think of the ones of the last 50 years: Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush. Each had/has their own agenda and their own reasons but the bottom line is, each is supposed to be representing the people of the USA, so they better remember who elected them and try to serve us to the best of their ability. Some have not done so well. My favorites: Kennedy and Reagan. My least favorites: Johnson, Nixon and Clinton. In betweeners: Carter and Bush and of course Ford (although I prefer a Chevy);)

Does the Titanic make the list?

I didn't witness it, but the movie was pretty good. ;)

Ronald Reagan joking that the US was launching a pre-emptive strike against the Soviets. Second biggest fuckup is that people actually believed that Reagan and Bush new nothing about Iran-Contra and didn't have to take responsibility for all the suffering they caused.
