The best PC ever ....

Every few days a poster who is very frustrated -- usually with good reason -- complain and seek support in their fury over truly awful, subliterate, insulting, ignorant, rude, or irrelevant PC's.

I can't recall seeing a thread about the PC's people get that are good .... I mean that warm their hearts and make us feel like we were successful at writing, a comment that shows someone read the story/poem, that you were successful at communicating what you wanted to, and that they appreciated your effort and shared your experience with the fantasy.

God knows, I know comments like that aren't frequent.

I hope we can use this thread to acknowledge the best PC's we've received ... until next time ... when we get one even better!

I'll post my nominee later on, after some others get a chance to post.

Not to brag but I build my own. Have for the last 10 years. I am really picky about parts and tying the cables neatly, and doing things just so.

Me personally I like the old hot rod ideas from the 50's. This is my computer, I built it, I use it, I fix it, mine. I've yet to see a production line pc come close.

But if you are near the Metro Atlanta area, there is a shop that does great work building custom PC's I highly recommend.

 Smart ass.

My favorite was probably from Severus about my Loving Wives story because it was a validation of sorts. A close second was this sweet one on Rough and Tumble Heart:

Very erotic well done with romance

A good short erotic tale of two people in total lust and the romance takes it to great heights.

As for "best PC ever" hands down it's this one Colly left on my non-erotic story, Alive and Going Home.

Sometimes

Sometimes the words won't come. The flash of inspiration drowns in the dark waters of hesitancy, indecision and self doubt. At various times in my writing career, I have sought out the works of others, drawing from their eloquence the spark of new inspiration. I often find myself returning to this work. In its simplicity and stark humaness I find the power of words to move emotion time and again.

Thank you rumps.

Daniellekitten on my story Casting Off Convention.

This is a wonderful scifi/fantasy piece with some very hot girl on girl action. Darkniciad manages to keep up the pace, have believable charaters and wonderful action scenes with good sword fights and fantastic dialogue. It's not stilted as some scifi can get, but flows with an ease that just shows what a wonderful writer he is.

I loved the characters and the premise is fantastic. Spell casting and all, this is a wonderful story that I heartily recommend.

My face gets red every time I think about that one.

Some of the others that stand out in my head are a collective from the comments on Ebon Genesis, from PCs, email, and forum comments.

When damn near everyone that knows the character in question screamed at me for making them understand and pity him, I knew I'd done exactly what I wanted to do with that story. DAMN YOU! appears in almost every comment from that story.

When even those who didn't know the character that is central to the story wanted to tear out the jugular veins of the supporting characters Peronelle and Lavina with their teeth, I knew my storytelling was right on target. FTF even had to pause reading it because she was about to start screaming things inappropriate for children to hear at those two evil bitches *laugh* That really made me smile.

Thanks to all. Very nice feedback that will make your day. Rumple's contri is lovely, not only for what it says but for who is saying it. Thanks, RF!

I'm on the run with work right now but will add a contri of my own later on.

Thanks, all.

On my story I Alone:

Once again

Once again I’ve responded to one of your stories in a purely emotional way. I don’t think this will come as a surprise to you, it didn’t to me. You paint emotions so tightly, narrowing it down to the essential.

I love the way you leave room for interpretation, the way you don’t tell your reader exactly how he should feel about the situation, the way you don’t pass judgement. The word compassion comes to mind and I can’t help but think that is has to be such a strong part of who you are as a person, how else could it come through so genuinely in what you write?

Surprisingly, it is not the beauty or the sadness that lingers with me after reading that story, it is hope. Isn’t hope a beautiful thing? Your stories speak to me on a deeper level than the words themselves, Cloudy.

I realise that I not only have great respect for the writer who gave us that story but admiration for the woman who could tell it in such a way.

It seems to me that these characteristics are connected in some way. I enjoy it when readers make astute comments that reveal something to me in a way I hadn't thought about it.

I think this one still is my favourite. It is on Bagged at the Opera, a low rated story with little sex and only covers the fetish by implication:

"I'm impressed

I'm a married female in her 30's, currently on anti-depressants that made my sex drive go fron 55mph to maybe 5 at best. (With my husband using every trick in the book--so to speak--at once).
That was well written, imaginative, and sexy. Plus, I think someone just FLOORED the gas pedal to the metal. Thanks. I needed that. Writer? Try to publish! You can do it."

If only all my stories had that effect.

Had to think about it, but finally decided on this one. It's for Abyss.

Stunning and extraordinary

The most seductive voice I have heard in a very long time. I could harken to your narrator for aeons. Truly, this is remarkable work - more so than I can well say. It's enchanting, beautiful, and superb writing, with a central character perfectly rendered and intensely human in his war with inhumanity. This will live with me a very long time.

Coming from a writer as good as Shang, this meant a lot.

I also have people who make a point of commenting on my stuff and I'll take a moment to let all of them know how much this means to me.

I assume by this that you mean you respond to their comments -- personally, I don't think there is much we can do that is as important as to let people know their comments made a difference to us.

Okay, my turn ...

Since this was anonymous ... you know, the same megalomaniac who can't spell monosyllables ... this one is even more special to me:

"This is - without any doubt - one of the best stories I have had the good fortune to read in this particular genre. This is more than romance and more than a B&D tale.
This is a tale of two strong characters, drawing the reader - as well as each other! - in to a web of intrigue and eroticism.

Well-written with superb style and grace, as well as conflict and humor. Too often I've read B&D stories which became little more than an exercise in sterility - cold and technical how-to's, not much more than a connect the dots and bump and grind. Does nothing for Me, personally. But this -- this is better than good.

There is more going on here than a quick first read gives a reader and this reader still got a lot on that first read. But, like the lifestyle itself, and like romance as well, delving into "Owning Pita" again is a secondary, more complex journey - all the more thrilling as the subtlety of the tale rises to the top.

Creme de la creme."

I agree...I also try to make a point of responding with at least a thank you...

Right now, I'm enjoying this one:

Love between a man and woman should be open and interesting and show the great depths that you managed to install in your characters. The two of you together seem to be able to draw on the other to find just the perfect words to make your readers feel exactly the right amount of tension and arousal along with love and affection. I'm amazingly impressed with this story, it's a winner.

I am SHAKING... Your story was so twisted and completely satisfied my literary needs. I love you for creating this beautiful piece of art. I for sure thought that she had him in her clutches. For a moment, i forgot what section of this website i was in! I thought it was the romance section. I loved it and i look forward to reading some more of your work.

No, it doesn't matter, especially when you get a note like that. It's more than support ... just plain enthused.
