The bane of the far liberal left.....PETA

I just saw a bit on "Your World" on Fox news about PETA and their brand-new (2nd) anti-milk campaign. Claiming that 2 glasses of beer is better than 2 glasses of milk.

Gee, so now we have liberal vegan idiots encouraging people to drink beer instead of milk. Oh yeah, that's good advice. I'm not a big milk drinker myself, and I don't drink alcohol either, but damn, even I can see the absurdity in this campaign.

These are the same people who scream about harvesting animals for fur, yet they wear clothes that were made in sweat shops. They will go the extra mile for an animal's life, even if it means taking a human life. How sick is that logic?

Here's some info: http://www.milksucks.com/index2.html

Oh yeah. I can see it now. Parents by the thousands buying beer and pouring it over their children's rice krispies as they sit down to the breakfast table. Snap, crackle and pop would really be funny then.

I have a good friend who is into animal rights and even she says that every time that PETA does something like this, they lose any credibility they might have with the general population.

They're the ban of the liberal left too

PETA has done a lot to damage the credibility of most animal rights groups and activists. I'm a believer in cutting back excessive cruelty, but only to a logical extent. I don't let it keep me from spraying my homes for roaches or feeding my pets soy.

They do have a good point with milk, milk is really not meant for the consumption of humans, it's meant for baby cows. That isn't going to keep me from enjoying the fine dairy products out there, but it is something to consider.

The liberal RIGHT?

They did this about 2 years ago, and MADD went after em. They claim it's anti-milk, not pro drinking, but they are running the ads at the "top 10 party schools" and the "5 driest" ones, too, as ranked by The Princeton Review or some such jounalistic masterpiece. Nope, it's not about the beer, of course not, just their selection criteria was based on something pretty clearly tied to alchohol consumption...

liberal RIGHT?

They give dairy protesters everywhere a bad name.

Yes, cow milk isn't actually meant for human consumption...but overall, it has great benefits. I don't think that humans would accept women being milked for human milk, so we stick with cows for now. However, goats milk is supposedly very beneficial, although I've never read any really good information on this.

It's one thing to protest the conditions that cows have to endure...but it's a completely different monster to knock the benefits or hazards of milk until more in-depth studies can be done on the pro's and cons of milk.

You don't know about wet nurses, do ya?

Actually, I do. When I worked in NICU, we had a mother who was too sick to breastfeed her baby, so she had her sister, who was still lactating, come in to feed the baby. Hey, maybe we just stumbled onto the next big thing. Have a line of women in McDonalds, whose sole purpose is to provide breast milk. Or would they do better at Dairy Queen?
