The qualifications

Mace Windu:

1) It's the purple lightsaber, motherfucker!
2) On a serious note, he's probably the most perfect image of what a Jedi is SUPPOSSED to be.
3) He took on the Emperor and almost won... albeit I think the Emperor was faking, but maybe he wasn't.

Anakin Skywalker:

1) He is the 'Chosen One'.
2) Created by the Myttaclorins... (or whatever).
3) Wacked Darth Dooku
4) Traveled the Dark Path and came back to tell about it

Master Yoda:

1) Height Impaired
2) Sprite for a 900 year old muppet
3) Light-ShortSword
4) Coolest fighting style
5) Went toe-to-toe with the Emperor
6) Got the Immortal Glow

Qui-Jon:
1) Taught an old master a new trick... Immortality
2) Trained Obi-wan

Obi-Wan Kenobi

1) Beat Anakin Skywalker one-to-one, lightsaber to lightsaber
2) Trained Anakin AND Luke
3) Got the Immortal Glow About him

Luke Skywalker

1) Beat Darth Vader one-to-one, lightsaber to lightsaber
2) Barely trained... Think about it normal Jedi's are trained from when they're children... Luke got maybe a year MAX and he still took the Emperor down albeit by proxy
3) The ONLY Jedi around at his time (except for an untrained Leia)
4) Luke! You kissed your sister! (Kinda hot!)
5) Black uniform...
6) He is the FUCKING hero!

-----

My heart says Luke...

But I think Obi-Wan takes it in the end.

Yeah... I'm fucking bored... what do you expect from me!

Sincerely,
ElSol

I think Luke is obviously the best. From what I've seen, both in and out of the movies (i.e. books, roleplaying games, etc...), Luke is the best by far.

I agree that I think the Emperor was faking his weakness. I don't think he could have beaten Mace anyway. Mace was owing his sorry ass until the cheap shot happened.

Yoda had his ass beat too, until cheapness showed up again. Yoda coulda got back in the fight and won it if he wanted too.

In the end though, Luke takes the cake.

Luke has the power to destroy entire planets if he wants to. From what I've seen, he has enough force power to destory a planet, but it would take him about a month to recover from such a monumental task. It's also said that the Emperor had the same amount of power, with the force that is. Luke is far superior with a lightsaber.

I guess it kinda comes down to which aspect your basing your decision on. Luke is stronger in the force than almost anyone. I think Anakin would win this category, if he hadn't suffered such great injuries. Yoda is mighty strong too. It's a tough call all around.

With the minmal training Luke got, I agree that his skills are beyond impressive. But to be fair, Obi-Wan lost his master before his training was fully complete. Anakin's biggest downfall was his pride and lack of patience.

I think if they were all put into a big arena and told to fight all at once, Yoda would come out the winner.

Okay...it's too tough to call. I can't pick. I picked Yoda in the official poll, but damn...this is a tough one.

I gotta go with Yoda even though he is a frickin' CGI....

(better than a muppet???)

I liked the muppet version better. They just seem more real. Although the capabilities they gave Yoda without the restrcitions of the muppet style is amazing.

R2D2!

[1] It's been around forever, (and from what I hear) will be in to the end.

[2] It has been restrained, dusted, sunk, fried, burnt, and blasted, takes an oil bath, gets a few new gears and keeps on ticking.

[3] It always makes the current HERO look good, and save his bacon at least once in every episode.

[4] It has never once told a lie, or toadied to any villan.

[5] IT is a cybernetic Puppetmaster to the Jedi. Does anyone know where R2D2 came from?

One must never forget that George Lukas was a gearhead in his youth.

Yoda

How can anyone doubt if for an instant?

Yoda, of course!

(you don't get that old without being a bad mo-fo)

Yoda did kick some major ass this time around. He took no shit from the clones...that's for sure.

The major problem he has though...he seems to follow the traditional Japanese style of speach...subject...object...verb last.

It was cool at first...but when he has a three minute monologue, it gets old quick.

Kidding, you must be - cool, Yoda is.

Hey goddamn it... results talk.

Mace vs. The Emperor --- Dead Mace

Master Yoda vs. The Emperor -- Run to a swamp planet

Luke vs. The Emperor -- Dead Emperor (albeit by proxy)
Luke vs. Darth Vader -- Darth starts picking daisies.

Did anybody else kiss their sister? No!

ElSol

And now the real battle seems to have begun...Japanese vs. Cheroke. Who will understand who first? Who will win this titanic struggle? Who's gonna get the popcorn...and can I have some?

I am going Qui-Gon...

because he walks his own path and still maintains as a Jedi, not a sith. We never see all he can do. And I love the idea of listening to the living force.

Yoda, for being able to take on any Sith at 900 tears old...

The Skywalkers seem to be getting shut out...

Yoda is likely second to Luke and Anakin, simply because of they are both essentially made up of the force. More genetics than training. If you follow the Star Wars saga outside the movies, Luke is the bad ass of all bad asses. Within the movies it is arguable, admittedly.

At the time of Revenge of the Sith I would have to say that Mace Windu is the baddest Jedi.

Jedi are weak fools, mere fodder for our entertainment.

Jedi who strictly adhere to the code, yes. But every good Jedi knows the code must me broken when it comes to certain areas.

i keep expecting someone to quote from odan-urr's commentary on the jedi code...

i went w/ yoda: after all, yoda did train qui-gon, dooku, obi-wan (sorta) and luke. sure, dooku went bad, but jeez, look at all these other former padawans.

I'll take Ming the Merciless anytime.

Plus his daughter was hot. And into BDSM.

I completely agree. If you go outside of the movies at all, the Luke is handsdown the most powerful Jedi. It's a shame that we don't get to see his true power in the films. In fact, he just comes off rather whiny and very whimpy. That's why Return of the Jedi was always my favorite. Luke finally started to reveal his real power. Sadly, it was only a drop in the bucket, upstaged by the Ewoks no less.

I think there's more to being the 'baddest jedi' than just power. There's personality, tact, courage, emotion... all those things go in to make a great jedi.
