Guess the troll's getting lonely in his ghost town again :p

Just to alert anyone who might not know better yet: the blow-up doll above and its puppet mater are in no way associated with any Literotica contest, and any so-called "rules" presented are completely fictitious, as is "A.I.R." and any related lists or contests "sponsored" by same.

To dramatically improve your Literotica experience, eliminate a tremendous amount of clutter, fraud, and egotistical rambling, follow these handy links, and click the "save list" button.

Morning Dark

Yes, he does like to clutter the place up with his delusions of being somebody important. At least his hot air keeps the thread warm in the winter. :D

I have three stories started and of the three one looks better than the others but I'll keep plugging away on all three.

I might think about this one once I'm sure my Earth Day story is nailed down.

Too many years of tradition to risk breaking over brainstorming for this contest :p

Odds are that I will track it from start to finish, though. This is the only themed contest I don't have a track for, so I need it to complete a data comparison set.

Ideas for this one are easy. I have three so far and one took a plot twist today that will leave panties and jockstraps littering the floor. :D

So, it's a group sex story, then? ;)

I'm glad for those that have ideas. A little depressed that I don't. But other things are going on so I'll concentrate on those. And hope no one else gets sick (PennGirl had a virus today :( )

Nope, so far it's just a group of two but if you throw in a time machine, the possibilities are endless. :D

Let me ask a question to the veteran writers here: How do you all keep writing sex scenes and still keep it fresh?

For me, the build up, story line, and dialogue are the fun parts, but the sex scenes tend to feel a little repetative when writing it.

The main thing I try keep in mind when writing sex is that each sex scene follows the narrative of the story (ie a romantic story has romantic sex, ect...)

Try to do it a little different each time or at least a little better.

How do you keep sex fresh and new in a long term relationship in real life? You work at it hard, no pun intended. The same goes for the written kind.

If the sex seems repetitive, then perhaps the problem is that the sex isn't essential for the story. Would the story work just as well without the sex?

If the sex isn't essential, then either omit it or imply it without describing it.

Although I'm always looking for new positions and foreplay build-ups, after more than 500 stories posted to Lit. alone, there really isn't anything nonrepetitive to deliver on the actual sex act (which, we have to admit, is pretty comical when it's all boiled down to just that). The freshness comes in the story line that goes with it and the setting and characters and themes. That's what I concentrate on making fresh--and I do approach each story with a "what can I bring to this that is fresh against all I've written before" question.

I think your answer is in your own post. After a certain amount of time you can't come up with new things there are so many acts/positions/ etc...

To me the sex becomes different with each scenario. In oneshot stories it is usually the first time the characters have had sex-especially in incest when it is the first taboo encounter-so your story and lead in changes the sex.

Consider the story foreplay. Most women will tell you that with incredible foreplay the sex becomes secondary. Get them so worked up for it, it's not going to matter if it seems similar to other scenes.

I had a 51 part series. Rough estimate the same two people had sex 65 times. It was hard to come up with fresh "sex" but I managed to always have different circumstances and emotions going into it.

For the record, if you are into it, BDSM gives a lot of options.

Yet another bump. :)

Had an idea myself, and as always the question is will I have time for it, but we'll see. It's at least nice to have the idea, even though it may not work out.

You have a few days to work on it.;)

I have four started and all are around 60k and none are finished.

They go in spurts.

Hmm... I didn't realize it was still that far away. I'm a couple thousand words into my Earth Day story. I might have it far enough along ( vacation until the 9th ) to feel safe in taking the time to brainstorm on something for this contest after all.

I suppose I could dust off "Violet Valentine" too. Maybe after leaving it sitting for this long, I'll have some new ideas to get past the sticking point in that one. Even have the cover image for that one done.

We'll see. I still have other priorities, but I do have possibilities.

So, go for the cheesy romantic that isn't typical. Stand cheesy and romantic on their heads.

Or take it somewhere it wouldn't normally go, either mentally or physically or both.

Or just post something cheezy and romantic :p It's not as if it's a sin, and maybe you'll come up with a twist to spice it up once you're going.

Hi and I just wanted to say thank you to PennLady and Darkniciad for answering my earlier post.
I think I've one more reread and revision of my story and then it just sits until I can submit it.
Am I correct in thinking that Laurel will post something a couple of weeks before the first submission date, providing exact instructions on how to submit the story for the contest properly?
Also, is a running tally kept while the contest is on? Or is that an issue because of the trolls?

Yes, you can submit your story in advance, so long as you have the proper line in the "notes" section.

Of course, until Laurel posts the official thread, you can't do that *laugh* As soon as she posts the thread announcing the contest, you're more or less free to begin submitting contest stories. Anything in the queue on the first day of the contest should go up in the first group of stories.
