The Authors' Hangout 2010 Halloween Contest Support Thread

Kinda growing tired of the unrelated shenannigans on this thread...
The ignore button would work in theory, but since things get quoted and people reply I can't completely ignore it.
Maybe I would be more offended had I been around when all that stuff started..? Who knows.
Sorry if I'm missing something important because I'm skimming the crap. :D

Okay, that's all. :catgrin::catroar::caning:

I haven't checked my stories today, maybe something exciting happened!!!!
Ha... eh. I doubt it, lol. :p

I hope to get more stories read, and hit the ones I read that I didn't get to vote on the other night. :)
Glad they got that straightened out, by the way. :)

QUESTION

When do readers get to vote for the Halloween stories?

thanks

TX TALL TALES: Thanks! It does have the potential to be lengthened. I'd have to ask my friend if she wants me to expand upon the story and further explain those things. It was my first stab at writing a vampire.

MYTHTRAV: Halloween is the one time people are probably more inclined to read and accept stories in that vein; even people that don't normally read that genre. I'll read it tonight. :)

EMERALD KITTEN:

I know what you mean about unfinished stories. However, I can't bear to get rid of anything. I never know when just one sentence, or even phrase will spark a story. I do the tagging, as well though and it does help me keep track of things. Thanks!

GLYNNDAH, those bums! I hope you have enough time to get it up now.

FAVORITEGODDESS: You tell them!

Still wondering how long it will take to post a picture on my story profile? Am I missing something?

Mr._Erotica – for impersonating the lovely Mia
Darkstone57 – we may have 57 trick or treat titled stories!
Mokkkkelk – HALLOWEEN?

As soon as they are posted to the site. There was a period yesterday when votes were suspended. But that would have been a glitch in the system.

Aw, c'mon, Scouries. How come you didn't disqualify my other story too? It had nothing really to do with Halloween; it was just about sucking and fucking and eating pussy.

I'm back to "pending" once more. I'm pretty sure I'll be a strong contender for Ogg's patented award this time around.

Heck Boxman I didn’t want them to throw out your first story let alone your second. But I’m only one Director and unfortunately I was outvoted (btw gabby voted for you too).

But there was no way I was going to let them kick both your stories out!

“Over my dead body,” I told them. “Kick out a member of the 1000+ VOTE CLUB? Are you people crazy?” I asked. "And look, this guy is one of the few most favorite authors on the site who was good enough to participate in the contest. He’s an icon. More than six hundred readers have favorited him,” I argued.

You’re in baby! Cross my scourian heart!

MagicaPractica,

Nice, congrats on finishing! Ah well, when the muse leads us astray, sometimes the best thing we can do is follow :)

Thanks! It's been two years since I posted a story so I'm hyped to see it up.

Jeepers! Does that mean I qualify? And for what?
Can someone please clarify what is going on here?

No, it's nothing, just ignore it. Legend in their own mind type of thing. If you have a story up for the contest you qualify for the Literotica Halloween contest when it gets 25 votes. That's all. Good luck!

MagicaPractica,

I enjoyed it! :)

Unless there is a huge sweeping between now and the end of the contest, I might actually qualify and that makes me ecstatic!

I thought it was 50 votes.

I thought it was 50 votes.

50 votes apply for the monthly contest.

25 votes for the special contests.

Is there a running score for the Hallowe'en voting?

Not formally. But you can check them (only one by one, though) much more easily now thanks to the most recent site services upgrade. Now you can go to an author's story list and a rating (current as of a few hours previously) is listed by each story. You can't find out the number of votes most of the stories have, though. Only the author can see this on his/her submission page. If the story is being listed on one of the "top" lists, though (rating and views), you can see home votes it has gotten (again on a delayed basis).

Phew, just got my entrant submitted.

Can't have a Halloween comp without a succubus story.

I was hoping to get two in: one nasty and one nice. As usual, I write too slowly, so only the nasty one made it.

Autopsy is not allowed as a keyword apparently

OMG I'm famous, I got disqualified. That just made my day *happy dance*
one hint though, at least learn to write the authors name correct!! it's Mokkelke.
I'm curious though what did I do to get this privileged honor of being disqualified?
I bet I'll be laughing real hard when I read the reason, I'm sure of it.

Good luck to all my fellow writers in the contest, hope you're all enjoying the ride.

Goodluck everyone! I just read, voted, and commented upon a few of the late entrants. Glad I took the time. Maybe, I'll read a bit more tonight, before contest's end.

My story's up! Twelve votes so far and a score of 2.58. Yep. I'm a prime contender for Ogg's award this time.

Hmmm...Vampires Really Do Suck had 32 votes, then got swept and it's down to 27...barely qualifying.

Thlought I'd post my vote totals to see how many get sweeped away. Not sure if I lost any already.

Just went and checked my old post and all three stories have lost votes. So must have had some kind of minor sweep.

I'm at 4.67 with 42 votes.

I don't think anything is going to place from the Erotic Horror category again this year, unless some really good stories came in on the last day. :(

Halloween. What made this Halloween so special to me?
4.62 128 9370 NonHuman (English) 10/02/10
not a bad score so far :) i'm well aware the non human category doesn't get as many readers as some others.
