The Aussie Arvo Chat Thread

Hoping everyone is ok?

There has been no mention of the dreadful bushfire crisis and I just wanted to say to anyone in the area or anyone who has been affected by the fires, my thoughts are with you. :rose:

I haven't been around for a while but wanted to drop in a give everyone in Aussie land my thoughts and care as the cope with the heat and the fires.

I have sort of lost touch with Miss Rebecca, not due to a falling out, but due to my inability to keep in touch; I hope she is ok. She is on my mind a great deal

xx

thought i'd pop back and say hi to everyone seeing the_mgp has given up on lit (we still stay in touch but she is adamant she won't be back :( )

so in her place i will strive to keep this post alive

i miss you mgp!

Hi, havent been in for ages. *applauds self for remembering password!*

My first summer back in Victoria. having had the dreadful experience of Brisbane for the past 18 months. Now weather wise, id much prefer the monotony of 28 every bloody day, cept feb. Here im sweating cobs, using my H20 allowance, and the rest of the suburbs too.

So my aussie arvo is hot. Bothered and cant wait for Him to get home to distract me somewhat.

Temperatures like this, make me regret taking a sickie from a aircon office!

just wanted to say hiya

Hey PV...nice to see an escapee from Qld (and its not god's own country no matter what those banan benders keep saying).

Just finished a Coopers and relaxing whilst my Sydney arvo drifts by. Not sure of temperature but it's warmish. Only 2 hours to weekend!

Nah...just domestics and maybe spending many an ill-gotten hour in here.

And I don't think you're missing much not being here in Sydney...I miss living in the country. When it takes the same amount of time to get to travel 20km in peak hour Sydney traffic as it does from Beenleigh to the airport via the Gateway you know you're in Sydney lol (okay, maybe that's a slight exaggeration)

i know!!! people in brisbane complain about the traffic here... while i'm thinkin 'what traffic???' lol.

we live 10mins from the CBD (non peak hour) and 10mins from the gateway.. prime spot and rent is a hellova lot cheaper here than sydney even though my friends say i'm paying too much.

I think Sydney has not kept up on the infrastructure (roads, trains etc) and of course being in a city twice as large population wise as Brisbane it's no wonder things here are a bit stuffed.

What we need here are the same people who decided to make the gateway 4 or 5 lane each way...so many of our so-called motorways are only 2 lane.

By the way, may I compliment you on your avatar :D

there's a constant upgrade of the roads here... it can be frustrating at times, but in the long term it will be much appreciated i'm sure.

and i am no longer owned, so feel free to send as many compliments as you like ;)

Crazy thing is, we fight and battle to pay for the privilege of living in the big smoke, nominally to have all the nice things (great restaurants, art galleries, theatre, beaches etc) and yet we get so shagged out with the city rat race we end up never really appreciating it lol.

At least in the bush you'll never have to worry about traffic jams (okay, the occasional bush fire may be annoying but...)

I've heard that Bris Vegas's restaurant scene is rapidly improving. If you can get a good laksa then you're on you way! lol

the thai restaurant 3 blocks down the road does a fab laksa... but i can't bring myself to order laksa anymore, they remind me of the evening i spent at His house and he ordered in thai for us, and he commented on the fact i don't eat the prawn tails

i'll never look at a prawn tail the same way again...

Prawn tails...sorry, I'd draw the line there too.

But then again I usually like to have heaps of chilli in my laksa, so what's a little left over crustacean versus third degree date burns lol

happy mardi gras to all the sydney siders!!!

..and hope all those in vic who missed the bushfires weren't caught up in the tremors yesterday... will it never end down there???? far out!

i'm logging off for today, out for a night on the town :D hope you all have a fab weekend :rose:
