When a human "passes wind", what type of gas(es) are being expelled?

In general, the major components of gastrointestinal gas are Nitrogen (N2), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Oxygen (O2), Hydrogen (H2) and Methane (CH4). These five gasses represent 99% of the gastrointestinal gasses.

The exact makeup of this mixture will vary from person to person, depending on what they eat, and how they eat it.

since I'm Canadian... I prefer centigrade, but when I express temperatures to my American friends (because I lived in the US), I give them in Fahrenheit.
