You might imagine that the oxygen atoms and the hydrogen atom might be in a straight line, but I believe they actually have a bond angle of 104 degrees?

Nitrogen makes up 78% of the air we breath. Why is it not available to plants.

because it's in a form that the plants can't use... the nitrogen in the air is N2, the plants need it in the form of nitrates (NO3), nitrites (NO2) and ammonia (NH4)
