I don't know. There was a point when I was hooked on coke, but then they started stepping on the original recipe too much while keeping the price sky-high.

I blame the War on Drugs.

1. Many porn fans are immature. They are at least part of the crowd of any site with sexual content.
2. This site is very lightly moderated. That lets the angry shouters and keyboard pounders set the tone of discussion. More thoughtful and reasoned debaters may take their debate issues to more moderated sites, or write off the internet as a place to discuss politics.
3. Desperation to sustain belief in a changing world. Progressives, conservatives, atheists, Christians, etc. Any faith or belief could be taking a kick in the nuts now. Preachers get louder and angrier as religions die.

Not included in the article, but seems like I read that the experiment had a confounding variable favoring Pepsi-Pepsi put their container on the right side. Most people are right handed and they tasted it first, preferring the short sip of initial sweetness over the Coke not as sweet. But like speakers, brightness wears over time So they lost the war.

ETA: on further review, I may have misremembered experiments. Even so, there were plenty of problems with the Pepsi challenge.
