The Angus Deayton Thread

If I were being payed £50,000 a show, I'm almost certain I'd spend it on threesomes with luxury call girls and a load of cocaine. They are acting as if it was unusual behaviour.

Stephen Fry is my favoured replacement

Oh, and Ian Hislop needs to go.

John Leslie snorting coke is a matter for the police to deal with.

It is not news.

By sacking him, and Deayton, TV companies end up pandering to the 'moral' outrage of papers obsessed with celebrity rather than presenting real news.

I don't think Leslie going is so much about the coke, it's the 20-odd allegations of sexual assault. He can shove anything up his nose he likes far as I care; forcing yourself on another person is an entirely different matter. So he can go. Honestly I didn't even know who he was until the story broke.

Deayton at least had the balls to show up and face the music.

Give Leslie his day in court and a chance to defend himself. He's guilty, lock him up and throw the key away.

What I object to is trial by tabloid press.

And when I first came across the story, I had to read half the article to find out who he was!

I don't think Stephen Fry is right for the job - he's a bit too 'fluffy cuddly bundle of loveliness' in his approach.

How about Ozzy? "Oh fuck man, I can't read the fucking autocue from fucking here! I mean can you fucking read that? And I don't fucking know who half of these fuckers are anyway. Sharon, who gets the next question?'
