My dilemma, as well. If L66's objective is to prove how bad it is - how low can you go? - then blindly assigning 5's (quinto-bombing?) is working against his wishes.

BTW, that brings an observation from last week's so-called "sweep" - I had one vote removed from a story that fell off the "new" list. It must have been a 4 or 5, as the score dropped slightly. Apparently "sweeps" work in both directions. So now I'm really curious about what's in the Secret Sauce.

And being Halloween it fits perfectly too, as its in Transylvania. Seriously though, an eco lodge sounds great. Did you see the views some of the cottages had? I looked at the price too...starting at 145 EU. Someone buy me a plane fare to Romania! (Raven's Nest is about a 7 hour drive from Bucharest ... I have already looked it up on Google Maps lol.)

My stories usually have too many votes to really tell what's going on when the major sweeps come. Where I've been able to estimate what happened, 5* votes were the most common votes swept, but the average vote swept was still lower than the score, so the score went up.

The sweeps are the product of a fraud detection system. They aren't there to clean up low votes, and they can take any vote that the site's metadata qualifies as fraudulent. I've seen contest scores (not mine) plummet as well as rise during the sweeps.

I've seen microsweeps in action twice, both times they were stories that dropped off the new list and a single out-of-range vote was pulled.

It does look cool, but I am so over traveling, after four jaunts across "each pond" I've decided to limit my travel to Amtrak accessible locations
 
Regardless, public speculation about the internal workings is a really bad idea. Trolls read here, too.

A supply run this morning. Breakfast at a cafe, lunch at a BBQ place. No cooking, no clean up. A royal fortune for three.

My story has more views on day one than any other story I've posted. And that includes the stories I posted for previous author challenges! My Amorous Goods story has a total of 7,400 views after twelve days, and this story went live at midnight and has 3,900. And I have 123 rating for an average of 2.47! Based on the numbers earlier, I estimate 60% of those are 1's.

I sold an 8' boat. Now I'm having to dig out my notes on building a replacement. Sleds are so much easier.
