My wife did it from scratch once and decided it was a great use for canned filling. It's cold and snowing here. We might get up to two inches. Since it's 28 degrees Fahrenheit, it's starting to stick to the roads. I'm just going to stay inside and stay warm today.
There's fresh brewed coffee and the teapot is hot. You may want to drink some hot tea today. There are donuts and cookies on the counter along with my first attempt at a pumpkin pie this year. Don't get too excited, I used the canned pumpkin pie filling and didn't make it from scratch.
I'll be over in the corner next to the fireplace working on my new story. Twenty four days to get it in for the Winter Holiday contest. I can do it if my Muse doesn't raise a fuss ...
Is this the Oscar Isaac one that you're talking about? I saw that it was on Netflix and meant to watch it.Frankenstein was worth the watch

I'm so glad to hear that it's good! I was planning to watch it tonight but maybe I'll start over lunch. I went through a gothic horror phase in high school where I read all of the big ones, including this one. Which very quickly morphed into my Anne Rice / emo goth chick phase. all evidence of which has been destroyed (clothes sent to and rejected by the homeless shelter, makeup donated to the local clown academy, and my pusher/dealer from Hot Topic was buried next to Jimmy Hoffa years ago)Yes! Frankenstein, written and directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi.
I’ve given up using canned pumpkin. It’s convenient, but if I’m tak8ng the time for a pie, I’ll do it properly and go with, yes, butternut squash. (And eggs, cream, butter, etc. One can no more have a proper vegan pumpkin pie than one can have kosher bacon.)
It is cold here too. The best part about the cold is the snuggles. But that's hours away. It's cold today. Have I ever mentioned I hate being cold?
I can lend you one - it's not quite snuggle time but I've had a couple this evening already. It is cold here too. The best part about the cold is the snuggles. But that's hours away.
It was pretty decent. They had some really strong actors and the story itself is iconic, and that made up for some of the cheesiness. Although I appreciated a lot of the cheesiness ... when he's assembling the monster and the movie is playing this really upbeat, happy, Disney-style classical music made me laugh.I don't find it all that horrifying, but I have a high tolerance for scary and gross. It isn't overly bloody, though.
The vegan butternut pie was good but for the crust, which came out solid instead of flaky.I’ve given up using canned pumpkin.
