The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

All of the air conditioners are off. o.o It's so quiet and weird...

The upside to all of the sites wonkiness though, is it's making it easier to resist the urge to submit the first arc of my orc story! XD

They're still running down here, but it's getting nice and cool at night, perfect for vegetating in the hot tub and staring at the stars.
One or the other kept kicking on all day still, and then we seem to have hit a sweet spot where they're all quiet. This time of day they're unlikely to go back on. Maybe, we'll see... Last night was the first time this month where they stayed off all night. It's finally cooling off here. It's been weird.

Same here, it was a hot and wet summer here, but when Hurricane season kicked in, it cooled up and dried off.

It was wet and hot all summer, and then it's been dry and hot most of the fall. Now that the rain has finally shown up again, it seems to remember that it's supposed to be cooling off. 😅

Ah, we haven't had to worry bout tornadoes yet. But our favorite gas station has been closed all month due to storm damage from a storm that never reached us. o.o

I do not miss those buggers. I did SkyWarn up in North Dakota and down in New Mexico for those buggers. North Dakota tornados were tame compared to New Mexico/Texas. I was down there when Friona TX got flattened and us HAM radio operators were their only form of communication all through that horrible night.

That sounds scary. Haven't had anything that big come our way though.

It's only just spring and we've had our first major bushfire for the year. Not a good sign for things to come.

But the heater is still needed to take the morning chill off.

Left the house at 07:45AM and it was raining. At 03:45PM I finally got ahead of the rain (the storm was going the same way I was). Two hours later, I got to my destination.

Did I mention that I hate driving in the rain? I passed at least three cars that had hydroplaned off the road. I am really stressed out now ...

Just want to echo @iwatchus here. One moment you're driving in heavy rain, and the next you can be caught in the middle of a flash flood disaster with multiple fatalities. And right up to the point where the disaster becomes apparent, everybody can be driving along at above the speed limit, trying to ignore the weather and get to their thing on time. Glad you made it through.

Holy crap! The Broncos are going to shorten my life. They were down 19-0 at the start of the 4th quarter then scored 33 points. The lead flopped back and forth, and they finally won it 33-32 with a field goal and no time on the clock.

I think commentators said it was the biggest comeback in team history and the team's highest-ever point total in the fourth quarter, and somewhere over a 1000 NFL games have been played since the last time any team won a game after trailing by 19 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Is Mary here? Did she survive?

You should have been at my house when the Buffalo Bills came back from a 32 point deficit to beat the Houston Oilers - second greatest comeback in NFL history. (Bills have 2 of the top 10 comebacks

Greatest 4th quarter comeback was Tampa Bay Buccaneers at St. Louis Cardinals, the Cards were behind 28 to 3 going into the 4th quarter and won 31-28

My Diwali plans:

* Wake up
* Write 150 words of a new draft just to get it started
* Go the gym
* Warm up, weights, cardio
* Come home
* Procrastinate on AH (<-- YOU ARE HERE)
* Write 1600 words today on the second draft of my holiday story
* Lunch, maybe

lunch, if the plot bunnies leave you any carrots and lettuce?

At the same time, in the background, my brain is subtly trying to come up with a title for this damn thing.

Sometimes I have a title before a story has even started, sometimes it's the last thing I do.
Just get the idea on paper, that's the first thing. Once you have it down, then go back in and start dressing it up. My usual schedule is to write until I run out of energy/ideas/words then go do something else. The next morning I re-read/edit what I wrote yesterday then press on with todays ideas.

Yeah, thankfully I know the entire plot of this thing already. Well, "plot", it's nothing but masturbation fuel with no real plot. But it can still be an ordeal getting the words down.
