The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

Just get the idea on paper, that's the first thing. Once you have it down, then go back in and start dressing it up. My usual schedule is to write until I run out of energy/ideas/words then go do something else. The next morning I re-read/edit what I wrote yesterday then press on with todays ideas.
I admire your discipline. If i went back to yesterday every day, I'd still be stuck in the 2000s. Yes, I was writing here in the 2000s.

The AWS outage has meant that our LMS system is mostly down, so I can't do the grading I had planned on today. What a shame. I will just have to spend the time writing. I am really happy about the start of this novel, about two women who move from mentor and support for each other, to lovers, to best friends. I feel better about these characters than any I have written since my Nude Day entry, which was my best story ever because of those characters. Right now, it has me hanging on to high expectations for it. Which I will almost certainly fail to uphold, but I can be happy in my innocent hope for the time being.

It's raining and gloomy here today, although it was still relatively warm (for us) this morning (in the low 60's). It was probably one the last days the cat's can enjoy the screen porch.

@Candy_Kane54 Do they still have much foliage for you? We lost ours a week ago or so. But you are a few hundred miles west of us and a little south. Hopefully they still have good colors for you. Not sure if that area had the drought issues we have.

How to get your roommate to go to the doctor.
1. Wait till they're at a sufficiently low point and hand them the phone.
2. Distract them until the day of so they can't go canceling their appointment. <-- You are here.
3. Help SO drag them out to the car and tie them in.
4. Wave good bye as SO does rest of steps.
5. Drag them into office and check them in.
6. Hold hand through appointment.

I saw the 2004 one first, but went back to watch the older one in between seasons. They were both fun and both had some problems finding their directions.
I loved the original when it was new. I realized how mediocre it actually was when I watched it again.

Even by the time the original series ended (and they found Earth), I was jaded enough that I was hoping it was going to be nineteenth century earth and they would crash land and start a ranch in the old west. (Lorne Greene, who played the Admiral in the original) was best known as the head of a ranch in the long running western TV show Bonanza.

If you had said Battlestar Galactica I would have demanded manuscripts.
I wrote with several other writers in a round-robin format and the stories always broke down into something hilarious.

In one Farscape episode I gave the bad guy, Scorpius, a case of Australius Nervosa which only allowed him to speak in Australian slang. He renamed himself to Bonzer Root and it went downhill from there.

Does she work for the US govt?! o_O maybe she's been furloughed, which I have to say sounds like something to do with farming.
Hope not! Getting 'siloed' with those soybeans would be deadly.

I have a story from October 7th still pending, and today is October 25th. I don't recall a time that long to publishing.

I have two story edits that I submitted on September 17 still sitting in Pending. I know edits take longer so I'm hoping they are published before my mortgage is paid off.

Quiet place here in the coffee shop. It'll take a few minutes for the coffee to brew. I'll throw some coal down to HP's dragon then pour a cup and settle down on that middle stool at the bar. My laptop 'll be open, but don't take that to mean I ain't listening.
