I like reading scifi, and I wrote a couple of steampunk sci/fantasy stories for the "Tales of Leinere" event. They were fun. I should do more in that universe.

Still here. Spending more time in bed lately than up it seems. Today, I came to out to take in a view of the back expanse. It's as though I lost years in the way it has changed.

Strengthwise, I'm in the wheelchair more than using a walker. My freedom and independence is now reliant on a live-in caregiver. That's a major adjustment when you've lived alone for so long. But I like her her nevertheless. She 's good cook too. I've gained a pound or two since she came onboard. The nurses that come to visit are happy about that.

I am having trouble fleshing out the main characters for the most part, how they came to be in that situation, except for one.

I enjoy the character building process and it's fun for me, and I've gotten a lot of help from Lit authors so I'm always looking for chances to pay that forward.

I am sitting here this morning trying to get myself back to writing. More so, I am trying to integrate my thoughts after the doctor told me yesterday that my mostly non-functional knee was not a candidate for knee replacement surgery, that I should just get used to not being able to walk more than a hundred feet and that was just the way it was going to be, probably for the rest of my life. At least the cat beside my stopped snoring loudly as I typed this. They need to invent kitty cpap machines.

My older sister and her new boyfriend are coming to visit for the weekend next week. She is unbearable when she has a new boyfriend. She was fifty-some years ago and she still is. She does not know about my writing and he is a churchy type, so no writing for me next weekend.

It's chilly out there this morning, but it's supposed to be beautiful this afternoon.

@iwatchus - bummer. At least my knee is eligible for knee replacement surgery but I'm not going to do it until I have to crawl to the bathroom to tinkle. It's tough resigning yourself to not being able to do the things you used to do. When I dreamed of all the things I planned to do once I retired, I never once considered that I wouldn't feel like or be able to doing them once I did ...

It's another beautiful but cool morning and the coffee is brewing and the teapot is hot. There are apple turnovers on the counter along with some Reece's cream-filled Oreo cookies.

I'll be over in the corner working on my story until it's time to go see the doctor ...

36 was one of my favorite years of my life. My son was born. I went back to grad school. I know neither of those are your destiny, but hopefully you can find your own magic this year. It really is a good age. Have a good one.

Not only am I concerned truly about HP, but deleting his accounts because he didn't pick up on third ring? Now I'm in trouble - I NEVER answer my phone, I rarely answer DMs and most emails go straight to junk.

Well, that's sad. I had made a few enquiries to his non Lit emails and some other checking with zero results one way or the other. He had turned 88 this year and was in poor health with pneumonia.

I saw that, too. But you might notice that the searches don't work for his forum accounts, just his author pages. When you key @HandleyPage or @Handley_Page within the forum... nothing. Something is amiss.

I tried to tag someone who hasn’t been active on the forum for …at least over a year, maybe? And it didn’t tag, but when I went to the story side their profile was still there. So that’s some kind of a feature but don’t know what exactly.

I’m wishing well for HP, in whatever form that may play out, a good recovery or an easy passing. 88 or-a-bit-younger is a good run in my books.

Well, I hope for the best, then. HP's most recent post according to the @HandleyPage account, the new account created after losing access to @Handley_Page, was on March 1st of this year.
