One of those rare times when I wished I drank coffee or tea or just took straight caffeine. I can't seem to get my brain started. I think maybe I was bitten by a tse-tse fly.

Maybe going back to bed and starting the day over again would help. sigh

We've had sunshine, Showers, Calm, Windy, and almost anything like in between.
A very unsettled day.
But now - a cup of Tea.

Anyone else whilst I'm pouring ?

Thanks, but no. I've moved on to Tsingtao.

We're having a few showers ourselves. It's a pitty, really. My wife, two of my daughters, their husbands and a collection of friends are going to an outdoor concert that I chose to avoid.

I might finally have an idea for the summer luvin' contest. So far it's a sketch. We'll see how it feels when I start writing.

Rained most of the day yesterday. Now they have flooding warnings out for the areas that burned last month. The little river that flows through that area tends to overflow when it rains hard. Now it will drag down a lot of debris left from the fire.

Had a couple of drops so far today. Weather sites are forecasting no rain for a week? That will interesting if it really happens.

Okay, that is odd. It is sprinkling pretty hard in the back of the cabin and dry in front. That is a new one for this place. This place is so small you would think a cloud could reach both sides.

Ha, that is funny. We are on a hill where the elevation sometimes causes rain to go around us. I'll be coming up the hill in the rain and all of sudden I cross the line where the rain stops. :D

I used to live on an incline. About three-quarters of the way up there was a significant difference in the amount of snow on the ground. It was like a wall of snow sudden grew out of the ground. Always found that hysterical.

Back in the 80s, Tsingtao, at least what they served in Asia, had formaldehyde in it. I wonder if they got that out of the formula.

As a preservative? It ain't listed on the bottle as distributed in the US. Maybe it's there, maybe not. I think it's a good beer. I read (in a fairly authoritative source) that the brewery was built by a German family with a German recipe.

Being Chinese is a matter of location, not origin.

Nah, it wasn't the Tsingtao that had formaldehyde in it, it was Soju. When you ordered it in a bar in Seoul, the waitress would open the bottle and pour out the first inch or so on the ground to get rid of it. Horrible stuff. I understand that things are better now with S Korea's booming economy but I still wouldn't drink it.

It all sounds too ghastly for me.
I managed some really nice German stuff [and a few not so nice], but Beer [?] with
preservatives in ? I don't think so.

but its' a sunlit morning here and acoffee would be more than welcome.
[where do I plug the machine in? the sockets seem to have moved. . . ]

:)

Having to ask where to plug it in is the first sign of... uh, oh yeah, here's the plug.

Fresh coffee is now available so help yourself.

Living next to a large lake causes all kinds of strange things to happen to the rain.

Thank you kindly.
I suspect (?) that my new pills (= 'Meds') are the cause of peculiar problems,
notably a problem of remembering important locations (such as the damned plug). I mean, who'd really leave a Bread Bin in front of it so it cannot be seen easily ?.

But the coffee was / is really rather good: Thank You.

Hi everybody. :)

Thought I'd pass along an update, mostly good news. My surgery is scheduled for August 18, so it's not far off. I tested negative for the BRAC gene mutation, and so do not need a bilateral mastectomy, which is a bit of a relief.

Now there's just school supplies and clothes to buy, food to prep, assorted other little jobs to do... guess I'm going to need that caffeine. Pass the chai!

Good News, indeed Madam.
[I had to look up what a BRCA gene thing is, but Wiki is quite helpful]
Does this mean a simple 'lumpectomy ?
Thoughts & Prayers,

Coffee ?

I've finally submitted part 3 of "A Valentine's Day Mess." It took me three months to write it and came out to about 27,000 words in five chapters.

I may kick myself for not submitting the five chapters separately.

Hi HP. :) No, unfortunately, it's not a lumpectomy. It'll be a mastectomy and reconstruction on the right side. The surgeon said from the beginning that a lumpectomy was not an option. My tumor (growth? whatever?) is 12cm long, and requires too much tissue to be removed for a lumpectomy. The reconstruction will ultimately take about a year to complete, good thing I'm a patient person.

Good news, PennLady! Good luck!

Thanks, HP #2. ;) Much appreciated.

Good for you PL! Continue on the path to wellness successfully! Take care of you!

The less surgery necessary, the better. Best wishes to you.

It's now almost 2 weeks from the last of my 2-eye-surgeries-in-2-weeks. My partner says my eyes look good but that's from the outside. Peering out, I feel like I have 1 1/2 eyes; the left is only partly there. But together, I see well enough to drive. Watch out -- I could be on your road!

[/me hums Firesign Theater hymn, with churchy organ]
Oh blinding light
Oh light that blinds
I cannot see
Look out for me!
Too late for coffee but salted Genmai-Cha tea works.

:rose: Glad to hear things are proceeding in an orderly fashion.

Sucking down some Country Peach Tea. Took a nap earlier so I'm good for a couple of hours of writing or at least pretending to write.....
