The Adventures Of Jim Johnson

If today's library visit is as eventful as yours, I'll let you know.

THE SHINING DVD arrived in the mail. "Hello, Danny. Come play with us, forever and ever and ever..."
*scream*
I cannot even watch that movie. Having worked in hospitality, there's nothing scarier than being trapped at work. One time I got snowed in with a hotel full of guests. A lot like The Shining without all the fun. ;)

It's comforting to know those people are driving.

'The Shining' is the only book I have ever read that absolutely scared the crap out of me. I was reading it late one evening in a sub-basement family room all alone when I reached the part where the boy finds the dead (yet alive) woman in the bathtub. My hair tingled, my skin crawled and I had an almost overwhelming urge to run upstairs and hide in the hall coat closet.

Steve's never equalled that atmosphere of sheer horror in any of his following books IMO.

SCARLETT

I'm piecing a vampire tale together. Vampires come in a variety of forms and flavors, and I'm rolling my own. He's a pleasant old man who reminds me of Alec Guinness. Some vampires work the day shift.
Sounds good. :) I'm so over vampires looking like they should be in boy bands.

You won't believe this! The computer wouldn't automatically pick up two library books so I had to scan them old school. Two books!

I feel your pain.

I just scanned 352 pages of an out of print book. Usually the Ozzies have the common decency to steal the books and make online files for free download. Maybe I could send one of our Ozzie members a bill.

Ah. Miscommunication, I think - I meant I had to scan the bar code to check them out. Our library has gone to they system where you put the books on a pad and the computer reads a chip glued in the book to check them out. Not all books have the chip yet, though.

But I did have a better time than you when I scanned all my old photographs a few months ago. Talk abut a walk down memory lane.
